The Belgian Lions DX-Team (OT8T) is going on a DXpedition to
Mozambique from May 2 to 15. Operators are Kurt/ON8KW, Roger/ON7TQ,
Bruno/CS8ABG, Paulo/ CU2CO, Emil/DL8JJ, Ron/ON1DX, Philippe/
ON4ACP, Marc/ON4AMX, Eric/ON4CCV, Oliver/ON4EI, Herman/ON4QX,
Ivo/ON5CD, Cis/ON6LY, and Franky/ON7RU. QRV as C8T with four setups
on 160-10m (SSB, CW, RTTY; maybe also PSK and FT8). The team has
also been granting an operating permit for 60m (the first for
Mozambique) and hopes to hand out many new ones on that band. They
are going to set up a fifth rig for 2m EME and / or more digital

The special event station 8J1KZ marks the 70th anniversary of

Philip/N2HX plans to operate holiday-style from the 2nd of May

Watch out for Johannes/DF5AU signing P4/DF5AU from Aruba (SA-036)

Between May 8 and June 10 PA111SCOUTS, operated by members of the

Michael/VK4EF will be active between April 21 and May 31 as S79LD,
first from Mahe Island, and during the second half of his trip from

UA, Russia:
A large number or Russian special event stations will be marking
the end of World War II between May 5 and 9 with the special prefix
RP73. Other stations from the Ukraine, Belarus, and Bulgaria plan
to follow suit with special prefixes containing 73. For more

Rick’s/NE8Z Tour in Europe:
Rick/NE8Z will be travelling in Europe between May 1 and June 6.
His first stop will be Poland for visiting family and friends until
May 18. QRV as SP9E and SP/NE8Z on HF (CW, SSB, FT8). Later on he
also plans to operate as: EA1/NE8Z and EA2/NE8Z, E7/NE8Z, 4O/NE8Z,

FT8 DXpedition Mode – 3. Test:
The 3rd test of FT8 operated in the DXpedition mode (“fox” and
“hounds”) is scheduled for May 5. Interested parties need to
install version 1.9.0-rc4 of the WSJT-X software and should take

Rafik/F5CQ – silent key:
Rafik/F5CQ (ex F6EUX) passed away in the night of April 18. Born
1950 in Egypt, he moved to France with his family in 1963. His
activities included DX operations as FL8RD, J28EO, FM7BO, FT8XA,
FT5XA, and FH5CQ. Rafik was an avid DXer with 334/339 DXCC entities
confirmed.
