26/12/2014: Members of the Holyland DX Group will activate Mamshit [UNESCO World Heritage site - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamshit] (WWFF 4XFF-026, Holyland Square H26BS) for the Israel National Parks Award. This will be the first time ever activation. Look for the group to sign 4X0WFF between 26-27th December. They plan to have two stations operating CW and SSB on the WFF frequencies. Operators include Shalom 4Z4BS, Mark 4Z4KX, Ruben 4Z5FI, Yulik 4X6HP, Ros 4Z5LA, Vlad 4Z5IW and Jan 4X1VF. QSL cards will handled by Ros, 4Z5LA. [OPDX Bulletin]

26/12/2014: Michael, G7VJR, will be active holiday style as VK9/G7VJR from Norfolk Island (OC-005, WLOTA 1469, WWFF VKFF-392) between 26th December 2014 and 1st January 2015. QRV using CW on the higher bands. No low band activity is planned. QSL via M0OXO. [DX-World]

27/12/2014: Kan, JJ2RCJ will be active from the island of Guam (OC-026, USi GU003S, WLOTA 0064, WWFF KFF-110) as AH2/AB2RF between 27-30th December, 2014. Focus on WARC band RTTY. QSL via LoTW. [DX-World]

27/12/2014: Take, JI3DST will once again be active from Kuchino-shima [Mouth Island], Tokara Archipelago (AS-049), Kagoshima prefecture, as JI3DST/6 between 27th December 2014 and 4th January 2015. He will operate SSB, CW and possibly digital modes and FM on 160-10 metres. QSL via home call, Bureau preferred. [DX-World]

27/12/2014: John, PU2KKE will activate Santa Catarina Island (SA-026, DIB SC-01, WLOTA 2981), Santa Catarina State, Brazil from 27-31 December, 2014 using the special callsign ZV5WSC. The purpose of this DXpedition is to spend time in the most isolated and deserted beaches, combining hiking, camping and ham radio. This will be approximately 70 kimometers of hiking. 28/12/2014: DXFriends will lead a DXpedition to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta as 1A0C supporting the fundraising campaign to finance Medical Assistance to the migrants in the Mediterranean Sea. Activity is planned from 28th December, 2014 to 6th January, 2015 and it will be concentrated on HF bands to provide QSO's especially to North American West Coast and Japan. 01/01/2015: Jeff, VA3QSL will be active from the island of Guadeloupe (NA-102, DIFO FG-001, WLOTA 0644) on 1-2 January 2015 as FG/VA3QSL. He will also be active from the island of Dutch Sint Maarten (NA-105, WLOTA 0711) as PJ7/VA3QSL between 9-13th January. 01/01/2015: Before activating Raivavae Island OC-114 in the Austral Islands group (FO/A), Wayne, KK6BT will first operate from the island of Bora Bora (IOTA OC-067, DIFO FO-003). He plans to be on the air from January 2 through January 5, 2015 using the callsign FO/KK6BT. All QSL requests should be directed to KE8G. [DX-World]

28/12/2014: Special event station W2HRU will be active on all bands and modes from Long Island (NA-026, USi NY003S, WLOTA 2937), Queens County, New York, from 28 December to 4 January 2015. QSL via N2MUN (direct or bureau), LoTW and eQSL. The suffix HRU stands for Ham Radio University, "a day of education to share ideas, experiences, knowledge and fellowship among Amateur Radio operators". 01/01/2015: Special event station 8J1FUYO will be active on all bands and modes during the entire year 2015 for the 35th Anniverary of the Fuyo Kondankai Amateur Radio Club, JI1YTF. (Fuyo Kondankai: An informal gathering in Fuyo Group - former Yasuda Conglomerate - for employees of the group companies to mutually use their products). QSL via the Bureau is preferred way. 01/01/2015: To celebrate the 50th anniversary of self governance in the Cook Islands, the seven resident radio amateurs will be granted the use of a special call sign from 1 January through 31 December 2015: E50A is Andy (E51AND) on Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cooks. E50B is Bob (E51BQ) on Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cooks. E50D is Des (E51DD) on Aitutaki (OC-083), South Cooks. E50J is Jim (E51JD) on Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cooks. E50K is Kat (E51CK/E51KC) on Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cooks. E50V is Victor (E51CG) on Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cooks. E50W is Warwick (E51WL) on Penrhyn (OC-082), North Cooks. "We are pretty isolated, have extremely limited Internet access and none of us are avid DXers - much more the rag chewing types", Andy E51AND says. 01/01/2015: The Bredhurst Receiving and Transmitting Society (BRATS) will be running a Special Event Station on 1st to 5th January 2015 to mark the 800th year of the Magna Carta drawn up by King John in 1215. The callsign used will be GB8HMC ... Golf Bravo 8 Hotel Mike Charlie ... Great Britain 8 Hundred Magna Carta. Powers that be wouldn't let us use 800 Tut Tut. Also on the 18th and 19th January the Medway Receiving and Transmitting Society (MARTS) also from Kent will be running a station to commemorate the first zeppelin raid on the U.K. in world war one in which civilians were killed. Callsign GB1FZR Golf Bravo One Fox Zulu Romeo ..... Golf Bravo One First Zeppelin Raid. Both stations will be run from the QTH of Nigel, G0GDA, using PSK, RTTY and SSB on the 10m to 80m band according to propagation availability. 01/01/2015: South African Radio League celebrates 90 years - From 1 January 2015, the special call sign ZS90SARL will be celebrating the 90th anniversary of the South African Radio League. The South African Radio Relay League was formed in May 1925. The name was later changed to the South African Radio League. From January until the culminations of the celebration at the annual Convention in Bloemfontein in April, Amateur Radio Today will transmit a weekly highlighting the amazing events of the past 90 years. 9ANP AWARD -

Marking the 10th anniversary of the Zagreb Amateur Radio Society (ZARS) and the 50th anniversary of the Croatian national parks, 10 years ago Zagreb Amateur Radio Society has launched a diploma Croatian National Parks (9ANP). As of 1 January 2015, on behalf of the Zagreb Amateur Radio Society, 9ANP Award is managed by Radio Club Croatian Flora Fauna. Now, the rules have changed. The (electronic) 9ANP awards are free-of-charge sent as attachments (jpg format, high resolution) to applicant's email address.

BA7CK - WOODY ISLAND -

UPDATE - Che, BA7CK is again on Woody Island [Yongxing Dao] (AS-143, WLOTA 4111). He may stay there for 2 weeks. Activation will be in his free time on 10, 12 and 15m using SSB/RTTY. QSL via BA4TB. - Che, BA7CK is currently QRV from Woody Island AS-143 for a few days. He is there to find a good QTH (and test band noise) for an upcoming group DXpedition planned for April. ZD8D, ASCENSION ISLAND -
