eHam.net News - WEST CHESTER TWP. -- Children can learn how amateur radio works during Saturday's Kids Day at the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting. From 1-7 p.m., members of the West Chester Amateur Radio Association will teach children about shortwave radio and its emergency communications capabilities through a program designed by the American Radio Relay League. "(The) Kids Day program is designed to give on-the-air experience to young people, introduce them to amateur radio and generate an interest in the hobby, Dennis O'Neill, club president. "It's important to attract young people to the hobby, as amateur radio operators provide extensive public service."
