Proposals must be submitted by Oct. 26
The National Association of Broadcasters says it’s accepting technical paper proposals for the 2019 NAB Show’s Broadcast Engineering and Information Technology Conference through Oct. 26.
Proposals are required to feature one topic of interest listed in the 2019 BEITC Call for Papers.
Radio subjects listed for this year include: all-digital AM and FM HD Radio; audio over IP/SIP/AES67; centralized monitoring and operations; connected cars; FM HD Radio power increase; FM translators and interference resolution; hybrid radio; podcasting; technologies for streaming delivery to smart speakers (and other atypical end-user delivery platforms); and other new radio technologies.
Other relevant topics include: programmatic advertising technologies; artificial intelligence applications for broadcast; back-office IT in the broadcast plant; broadcast facility design; C Band satellite issues; cybersecurity; drones; engineering staff development/recruiting; spectrum usage; user-interface and user-experience techniques for broadcast apps; and 5G effects on broadcast.
Note that the selection committee favors technical papers featuring original research or highly regarded speakers, and content should be presented in a tutorial form.
Proposals are subject to peer review, and the authors of those selected will be notified in November.
NAB Show is scheduled for April 6–11 in Las Vegas.
