Following
the direction of the ARRL Board of Directors, ARRL has incorporated
changes to the rules for all ARRL-sponsored contests and DXCC,
prohibiting automated contacts. These changes also apply to the Worked
All States (including Triple Play and 5-Band WAS), VHF/UHF Century Club,
and Fred Fish, W5FF, Memorial awards. The changes are effective
immediately.

As promised by Huntsville Hamfest veterans, Sunday was a more relaxed day at the Huntsville Hamfest than Saturday (which was insanely busy–in a good way). Since we had a table in the vendor section of the hamfest, I started taking many of the photos below before the doors officially opened. As you’ll see, all of the major radio manufacturers and retailers were present in Huntsville. It’s no surprise, as it turns out Huntsville is the third largest hamfest in North America (Orlando Hamcation is #2 and Hamvention #1). by Channel 292 (Europe) on 6070 kHz at 15:00 UTC Sunday 18th August.
And by WBCQ on 7490 kHz at 00:00 – 01:00 UTC Monday 19th August
There is a repeat on 6070 kHz on Friday 23rd August at 19:00 UTC.
This week’s show starts with a little something from
Wagner’s Parsifal, then an overture from Rossini. Then some exquisite
flute music from Hindemith and a concerto by Bottesini. Next some Greek
chamber music and an extract from Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers. All rounded
off with some Schubert and Beethoven.
