Neven/LZ1COM operates from the Maldives (AS-013) between Dec. 29

Rolf/DL8AZ is going to pay the island Meerufenfushi (AS-013, WW
Loc. MJ64uk) a visit between Jan. 2 and 11. QRV holiday-style as

CE9,…, Antarctica:
Yath/JG2MLI will be operating from SYOWA station on Queen Maud Land
(AN-016, WAP JPN-03, JAFF-0033) from January 2017 until the 20th of
January 2018. QRV with the call 8J1RL on 40-10m (CW, SSB, FM, RTTY,
digital modes). Yath is also going to use the special event call
8J60JARE to mark Japan’s 60-year long involvement in Antarctic

DL, Germany:
Members of the DARC in Wittenberg (DOK W29) are going to mark the
500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation with the call
DR1517LU during 2017 (special DOK 500RLW). QSL via bureau, eQSL.
The special event station DR25MDK (special DOK 25MDK) draws
attention to the completion of the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal 25 years
ago. The call will be used by various station along the Canal’s

DR60SAL (special DOK 60SLA) celebrates the reunification of
Saarland with the Fed. Republic of Germany 60 years ago throughout
2017. QSL via bureau.
The DARC at Voelklingen (DOK Q05) celebrates its 60th anniversary
during 2017 with the call DR60VKL (special DOK 60Q05). QSL via
bureau.
Radio amateurs from Peine (DOK H20) celebrate their club’s 70th
anniversary with the call DQ70PEINE (special DOK 70H20). QSL via

E5, South Cook Islands:
Milan/OK1DWC is currently operating on Rarotonga Island (OC-013, WW
Loc. BG08) as E51DWC on 160-10m (CW, SSB, digital modes). The

EI, Ireland:
The following nine special event calls are drawing attention to
Ireland’s “Wild Atlantic Way” along the island’s western coast:

The special event station GB2KW operates from near Inverness during
January 2017. The station uses an assortment of gear (transceivers,
transmitters) made by KW Electronics Ltd. during the 1960s and 70s.

GB8KW, run by the Cray Valley Radio Society (G3RCV), will also be
active with KW Electronics equipment during January.
HK, Colombia:
A team consisting of HK6JIL, HK6JCF, HK6F, HK6KDJ, HK6NVV, HJ6FSL,
HK6PVA, HK3PSA, HK6KDK, HK4JCC/6, HK4GOO/6, HK4LIS/6, HJ6CMC, and
HJ6ERU will be operating with the special event call 5K6RM around
the Feria de Manizales from Jan. 1 to 9. QRV on 160, 80, 40, 30,
20, 15, 10, 6 and 2m (SSB, CW, RTTY, SSTV). Andres/HK6NVV,
Santiago/HK4LIS/6, and Gabriel/HK4GOO/6 also plan to activate the
Parque de los Nevados (WW Loc. FJ24hx) from the 5th to 9th. QSL via

JA, Japan:
8J2A celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Asano Park, which is
also the venue for an annual exhibition of Azaleas. QSLs come
automagically via bureau.
LA, Norway:
LM80Q and LM80REX will be celebrating the birthdays of the
Norwegian royal couple during 2017. Queen Sonja and King Harald V.
will both turn 80 this year. QSL for both calls via LA9VDA.
LZ, Bulgaria:
The Bulgarian Radio Club Blagovestnik (LZ1KCP) continues to honour
Bulgarian saints during 2017. in January they will be active with
the call LZ552SGO. QSOs are valid for the award All Saints – 2017.
OM, Slovak Republic:
Pavel/OM3CND will be active with the special call OM685RADOLA
during 2017 to mark the 685th anniversary of the town Radol’a. QSL
via OM3CND.
ON, Belgium:
Members of the Belgian radio club ONZ Knocke (ON6HC) will be active
with the call OP17HC duirng 2017 to commemorate the First World
War. QSOs are valid for the UBA 14-18 Award. QSL via ON7PP.
OH, Finland:
The Finnish Amateur Radio League (SRAL) will be celebrating
Finland’s centennial of independence during 2017 with the call
OF100FI/x (x according to their callsign districts 0-9). QSL via
OH2BAD.
OH100FIN will be operated by members of the club station OH2AP
throughout 2017. QSL via bureau.
OZ, Denmark:
The Danish radio club Eksperimenterende Danske Radio-amatoere (EDR)
will celebrate its 70th anniversary with the special event calls
5P90EDR, OV90EDR, OX90EDR, OZ90EDR, OZ7D (only in JT-modes) during
2017. An award will also be available. QSL via OZ1ACB, LoTW, eQSL,
ClubLog OQRS; return cards are not necessary.
OZ44C marks Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki Expedition (LI2B/mm) 70 years
ago. QTB until the end of 2017. QSL via 5P2BA (d/B).
OZ100DVI, operated by members of the EDR HAM Radio Club of
Skanderborg (OZ7SKB), commemorates the sale of the Danish West
Indies to the United States 100 years ago. QRV until the end of
OU0POLIO will remain active until the end of 2019 (see also DXNL
1919), the estimated date for the eradication of the disease. QSL

PJ2, Curacao:
Steve/KH0UN will be active as PJ2/KH0UN from Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA

S5, Slovenia:
Members of the Radio Club Cerkno (S50E) celebrate their club’s 60th
anniversary with the call S557E until the end of 2017. QSL

SP, Poland:
HF800O celebrates the 800th anniversary of the city Opole until
March 31 in 2017. The station will be run by members of the

T8, Palau:
Yoshi/JK2VOC is currently active as T88FY from Koror Island
(OC-009) until the 29th on HF (CW only). QSL via JK2VOC.
VE, Canada:
Canadian amateurs are going to celebrate Canada’s independence (150
years ago on July 1st 1867) with the special prefixes CF (for VA
calls), CG (for VE calls), CH (for VO calls), and CI (for VY calls)
during 2017. VB7CAN150 will also be active during 2017.
XW, Laos:
Bruce/3W3B will be back on the air again with the call XW4XR
between Jan. 3 and 15 on HF (CW, RTTY, JT65). QSL via E21EIC, LoTW.
ISWL club calls:
Geof/M0BAU will be active with the club call GX4BJC/a (WAB SJ37)
during January 2017, and Merv/G0UJD with MX1SWL/a (WAB DK56). QSL

60m Band in Germany:
German amateurs now enjoy limited operating privileges on the 60m
band since last week. We’ve been allocated a band between 5351.5
and 5366.5 kHz. Among the first DX countries contacted so far are
V5, 9K2, 4X, EA8, and V3.
2017 IOTA Honour Roll – Annual Listings:

end of January.

(AS-069) during July 2017. This IOTA group is currently confirmed
OC-267 – Coral Sea Islands Territory North: Andrey/VK5MAV plans to
put OC-267 on the air during May/June 2017 as VK9MAV. For DXCC
purposes this location does not count as part of Mellish Reef, but
