5B   – H2017PFO is a special  callsign  issued for  the period  1 January-
31 December to the Paphos Radio Club  to celebrate Paphos  (Cyprus)
sharing the honour  of being  the  European Capital of Culture  for
2017 with Aarhus (Denmark). QSL via  Club Log’s OQRS or  via 5B4AIE
(direct preferred: for bureau cards, use the OQRS “bureau” option).

6W   – Ron, VE3REV  moved  to  Dakar, Senegal in  August 2016, and is  now
QRV as 6W1SU. He will be there for two or three years, and  will be
active on 80-6 metres “phone only, but hoping to tackle  CW later”.
He asks DXers to be “tolerant, patient, polite and supportive” with

9N   – The newly formed EI DX Group will be active as 9N7EI from Nepal  on
8-20 March.  The  11-man  team (EI2II, EI2JD, EI4GZB, EI5GM, EI5IQ,
EI5IX, EI6FR, EI9FBB, EI9HQ,  EI9HX and EI9KF) will  operate up  to
five stations 24/7 on 80-10 metres CW, SSB  and digital modes.  QSL

C6   – Bob N4BP (C6AKQ),  Tim N4UM (C6ARU) and  Mike K4RUM (C6AUM) will be
active  from  Marsh Harbor, Great Abaco (NA-080) on  7-21 February.
They  will  operate  mainly  CW  on  160-6  metres.  Plans  are  to
participate  in the  ARRL DX CW Contest  as individual  single-band
entries (on 80, 20 and 40 metres respectively).  QSL C6AKQ via N4BP
(direct) and LoTW; QSL C6ARU via N4UM (direct, no LoTW);  QSL C6AUM

EA9   – Look  for  Tom EA9/DJ6TF,  Sigi EA9/DL7DF,  Juergen EA9/DL7UFN  and
Frank EA9/DL7UFR to be active  from  Melilla on  15-22 March.  They
will  operate  CW, SSB, RTTY and  PSK31 on  160-10 metres with  two

GM   – Tynemouth Amateur Radio Club’s members  G0SBN, G8YFA, GM3WOJ, M0GAE
and M0KLO will be active as  GS0NWM from the  Isle of Mull (EU-008)
on 21-28 April. They will operate CW, SSB and digital modes on 80-6

H40   – Stan, LZ1GC will  be  active  again as  H40GC from  Nendo (OC-100),
Temotu Province on 3-17 October.  Activity will be on the  HF bands
SSB, CW  and  RTTY.  QSL via Club Log’s OQRS (preferred),  via home
call (direct or bureau) and LoTW.  More information  will be posted

KG4   – Active from Guantanamo Bay (NA-015) will be Bill W4WV as KG4WV (10-
24 February), Jim KG9LB as KG4AW (10-24 February),  Keith KE4KDY as
KG4DY  (10-17 February)  and  Don W4ZYT as KG4ZK  (17-24 February).
They will operate CW, SSB, PSK  and RTTY on  160-6 metres.  QSL via

PA   – Marcel, PD5MVH  will  be  active  as  PD5MVH/p from  Ameland Island
(EU-038) from 28 January to 11 February. He will participate in the
Black Sea Cup International (4-5 February) as PD38EU. QSLs via home

PY   – Participating in the  9th South American  Lighthouses Weekend, look
for ZW2R to  be  active from  Icapara  Lighthouse on Ilha  Comprida
(SA-024) on 17-19 February.  QSL via PY2LCD, direct  or bureau, and
LoTW.
PY0F   – Leo, PP1CZ will  be active  again  as  PY0F/PP1CZ from  Fernando de
Noronha (SA-003) on  3-8 February.  He will operate mainly  CW with
some SSB and RTTY on 80-10 metres, plus 6m if conditions allow. QSL
via Club Log’s OQRS or direct only to PP1CZ (neither the bureau nor

PZ   – Matt, K0BBC will be active as PZ5W from Suriname on  27-30 January.
He will operate SSB and digital modes.  QSL via N0AT and LoTW; OQRS

UA   – The Radio Marathon  “Moscow-870” [425DXN 1340] is running  until 31
December. Special callsigns to be active next month are R870M (1-10
February) and R2017M (11-28 February).  Detailed information on the
event and the award programme can be found at www.moscow870.com.
UA   – Yury R2DG, Vasily R7AA  and Yevgeny UA6EX  will be active  as RI0LI
from Leont’yeva, one of the  Medvezh’i Islands (AS-022) during  the
last week  of July, followed  by a short  operation as RA70AA  from
GUSMP  Island  (AS-070).  A website  is  under  construction.  [TNX

V3   – Art, NN7A will  be active  again as  V31JZ/p from  South Water Caye
(NA-180), Belize on 15-21 February, including an entry  in the ARRL
DX CW Contest. He will operate mainly CW on 160-10 metres.  QSL via

V4   – Thaire, W2APF will be  active as  V47JR from  Nevis Island (NA-104)
from  18 March  to 1 April.  He will operate  CW and  SSB on  80-10

V5   – Georg, DD8ZX and Klaus, DJ9KM will be active again as  V5/DD8ZX and
V5/DJ9KM from Namibia on 6-18 February. They will operate SSB, RTTY
and PSK  on  160-10  metres, and if  possible on 6m.  Plans  are to
participate  in  the  CQ  WW  WPX  RTTY  Contest  (13-14 February),
possibly  as  V55V  (QSL via DJ8VC).  QSL via  V5/DD8ZX  via  DD8ZX
(direct or bureau);  QSL V5/DJ9KM via DJ9KM (direct or bureau)  and

VK9M   – Rob, N7QT and Hawk, SM5AQD  “are working  to activate  Mellish Reef
this coming November”. Plans are for eight  operators to be  active
on 160-10 metres CW, SSB and RTTY with four stations.  Details will

VU   – Operated by  the  West  Bengal Radio  Club, special station  AU2WBR
[425DXN 1340] is expected to remain QRV from  Sagar Island (AS-153)
until  31 January.  QSL  via VU2NRO  (National Institute of Amateur
Radio, 6-3-1092/93 Raj Bhawan Road,  Somajiguda,  Hyderabad 500082,
India).
W     – Once again members of the Palos Verdes ARC will  operate as  K6PV/6
from Santa Catalina Island (NA-066) on 23-26 February. Plans are to
operate SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31 and “some satellite work”; they expect
most activity to be on 40, 30, 20 and 17m, “but if the higher bands

XE   – XF2L  [425DXN 1340]  is  confirmed  to   be  active  from  Isla  de
Sacrificios (NA-224) during the South American  Lighthouses Weekend
on 17-19 February.  Activity will be restricted  to daylight  hours

9G5X —> The website for the 7-21 March  9G5X DXpedition  to Ghana  [425DXN

active on  160-10  metres  CW, SSB  and RTTY  with three  stations.  QSL via

AMATEUR RADIO ALGERIENS APPEAL — > “Vlad, UA4WHX  (7V7V)  recently  got in
touch and wanted to convey to the DX world a serious problem about  to occur
within Amateur  Radio Algeriens” (ARA, the l ocal IARU member  society): see
http://ift.tt/2j3lCMP for detailed
information. So far some 90 responses to the appeal  have raised the  79% of
the target amount.

QSL CY9C —> Bureau cards for the August 2016 DXpedition to St. Paul Island
Will  be  mailed  on  1 February.  “This is  our  closing  date  for  bureau
confirmations”, the team states on their  website, “no bureau cards will  be
processed  after  that date”.  Use Club Log’s OQRS  (the direct link  can be

than 30 January”.
