Access to the main functions of www.425dxn.org is provided by the 425DXN App
for Android. It is available on Google Play – free of charge, no ads. Enjoy!
ITALY & 60 METRES —> The WRC-15 60m band allocation has been released for
amateur radio use in Italy. The national frequency plan, published in the
Gazzetta Ufficiale (the official journal of the Italian government) on 19
October, now allows the use from 5351.5 to 5366.5 kHz on a secondary basis
with with a maximum power of 15 watts EIRP.
QSL NOT VIA NR6M —> “Due to circumstances in my personal life”, NR6M says,
I am no longer doing QSL manager work. I am only managing my personal call
and V47UR. For all the stations that I was previously managing, please
contact the individual callsign owners on how to obtain their QSL cards”.
According to his qrz.com cached page (8 October 2018), Rex was the QSL
manager for 5W0W, A52PD, A6/N2IEN, C6/N2IEN, CO2HQ, DU1/W7XA, DU1KA, DU1WGA,
EL2BWI, EL2EF, FJ/KB2HZI, FJ/N2IEN, FJ/NN2DX, FJ/W2RE, FJ/WW2DX, H40IOTA,
H44IND, H44IOTA, H44RK, H44USMC, HH2/N2IEN, HH2AA, J8/WW2DX, NN2DX, NP4R,
OY/N2IEN, OY/W2RE, OY/WW1X, OY/WW2DX, OY6A (IARU 2015 only), TG9AJR, V26PD,
VK4EI, VK4SWE, VK7XX, VP2EZZ, VP2V/AA7V, VP2V/K6TOP, VP2V/KE2VB, VP2V/N2IEN,
VP2V/N3DXX, YJ0AT, YJ0RK, ZF2AV, ZL1G, ZL2HAM, ZM1G, ZR9C and ZS6WN.
TT8KO —> After being forced to QRT on 10 October and prevented from
leaving Chad since 18 October [425DXN 1433], eventually Ken, LA7GIA (TT8KO)
was permitted to go home. He was no longer allowed to get on the air, but
was able to dismantle all of his antennas. His flight was booked for 25
October.
VP6D —> The first QSO in the log was made on 20 October at 04:16 UTC. The
latest statistics update (8 UTC on 26 October) shows 51827 QSOs made on CW
(28743), SSB (13520), FT8 (8916), RTTY (646) and PSK (2) with 15453 unique
stations (29.82 %) located in North America (56.84 %), Europe (24.94 %),
Asia (13.12 %), rest of the world (5.1%). The most productive bands so far
are 20m and 40m (13375 and 11377 QSOs respectively).
“We know Ducie is an ATNO for many DXers”, the team on the island says.
“However, we are seeing far too many dupes. People are working us and a few
minutes later working us again, the operators are getting a bit frustrated.
DXA availability depends on two Ducie Island networks that are subject to
intermittent outage. If either network drops out DXA does not do a refresh
to pick up missing calls”. So “do not rely on what may show on DXA, but
check the ‘Logsearch & OQRS’ page on https://www.vp6d.com for the official
record of your contact”. The team knows that “some FT8 QSOs are not in the
log yet”, but they are “working that problem”. For busted calls, not in log,
etc., follow the guide on the website’s ‘QSL Information’ page.
