15/03/2013: Dimitry, UT5UGR, will be active as 4X/UT5UGR from Israel between
15-18th March, 2013. He will use the callsign 4X0W during his activity in the

15/03/2013: Look for Kazu M0CFW / JK3GAD, to be active once again as MJ0CFW
from the isle of Jersey (EU-013, WLOTA 0818, WW Loc. IN89VE) between 15th and
17th March, 2013. Plans are to be QRV for the Russian DX Contest and BARTG HF
RTTY Contest. QSL via LoTW. QSL also ok via M0CFW, direct only. [NG3K]

15/03/2013: Randy N0TG, Ron AA4VK and Jeff N1SNB plan to operate from the
island of Sint Maarten (NA-105, WLOTA 0711) as PJ7/homecalls from 15-23 March,
2013. QRV on all bands and modes. QSL all calls via AA4VK, direct only and LoTW.

15/03/2013: Takhir, UA1ZEY, will be QRV throughout the month of March 2013 as
UK/UA1ZEY from Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in his free time. He will be QRV on the HF
bands using CW and SSB. QSL via home call, direct only. [DXNL]

15/03/2013: Graham VK3DOG, Keith VK3FT and Tony VK3TZ are planning a radio
weekend away to Phillip Island (OC-136) on the weekend of 15-18th March, 2013.
They have identified a farmlet which should provide a nice low noise environment
and a good take-off over salt water in nearly all directions. They will be
active on all bands from 160m-10m. Simple rotatable dipoles on the high bands
and full size verticals on 40m and 80m. On 160m they should have a vertical
array (22m tall) with some parasitic elements, beverages and loops for receive.
They will be operating with only a single TX at a time but should be active
approximately 20 hours a day, with resting ops spending their off time surfing,
relaxing or sampling some beers or rum. ;o). Callsigns will be homecall /P. They
are looking especially for EU contacts on top band at their sunrise and also
keen to work Stateside on 75m phone. [DX World]

15/03/2013: David, VE3VID, is currently operating from the rare Igloolik Island
(NA-174, CIsA NW-013) as VY0/VE3VID. QRV on SSB and RTTY, initial reports
suggest he will remain on the island for the next 3 weeks. During an earlier
exchange on RTTY, David mentions: "Operating setup 2800 km north of Ottawa,
using mmtty into a Yaesu 857-D and a folded dipole. Very cold here, no polar

16/03/2013: Alain, F6CUG/p will activate the Castle and Mill d'Aureille (DFCF
13-065, DMF 13-011) on 16th March, 2013. The castle and mill are located in the
commune of Aureille (CP 13930), canton of Eyguieres (DDCF 13-09), Departement
Bouches du Rhone/12 and Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur (DPF 20). QSL via home call,

16/03/2013: Operators Terry G3VFC, Keith M0KJA, Fred M0RFD, Rob M0VFC, Dave
M6KOM, Maureen M6VFC and Richard 2E1EVK will be active from the Isle of Wight
(EU-120, WLOTA 2985) as GX5MW/p from 16-23 March, 2013. They will be active on

18/03/2013: Hans, PB2T, president of IARU Region 1, is travelling once again.
This time he will be radio active from Senegal as 6W/PB2T, on all HF bands and

18/03/2013: Mick, G1EUZ (RAFARS #1848), will be active on Ascension Island
(AF-003, WLOTA 1491) as ZD8RAF from the 18th to the 22nd of March, 2013. He will
use an IC-7000, LDG IT-100, Alinco DM-W330MW PSU, Spiderbeam 12m pole and a
vertical or horizontal dipole. QSL via home call, RSGB bureau or direct with SAE

19/03/2013: Noel, F6BGC, plans to operate holiday style as 8Q7NC from the
island of Rihiveli, South Male atoll (WLOTA 3911, Grid Loc. MJ63), Rep. of
Maldives (AS-013), from 19-29th March, 2013. QRV on 40-6 metres, mostly SSB with
some CW and RTTY, with 100w an a vertical. QSL via home call, direct or REF

19/03/2013: Tim, NL8F, is expected to be active from Tuvalu (OC-015) between 19
March and 2 April 2013. His callsign is not yet known, but he will obtain his
license upon his arrival on Tuvalu. Activity will probably be mostly SSB. QSL

20/03/2013: Pedro, AA9HX / ON7WP just received his permanent 2013 license and
will be active again from The Gambia using the callsign C5WP. He will be QRV
from 20 till 27 March from the Kololi aera and also from inland Buntu village.
Pedro will also be QRV for two weeks in August, dates TBA. He reports that this
time he will have multiple dipole antennas and will operate from a three story
building, which is better than the last time where he was lacking high points.
Yaesu FT-897 also with batteries so he can operate when the electricity shuts
down [33% of the time..]. Pedro previously operated from 11 till 18 November
2012 as part of his effort to set up a locally managed tourist organisation
helping local to gain their own money. QSL only direct to ON7WP address. Please

20/03/2013: Pertti, OG2W and Raimo, OH0BCI plan to be QRV as OH0/OG2W from the
Aland Islands (EU-002, WLOTA 1373, WWFF OHFF-037) between 20-24th March, 2013.

20/03/2013: Operaators Michael G7VJR, Nigel G3TXF, John G4IRN and Martin G3ZAY
have planned an expedition to Easter Island (SA-001, DICE ICE-001, WWFF
CEFF-027, WLOTA 0319), which will take place from 20-27 March 2013. QRV as XR0YG
on 160m to 10m, mainly CW. They will run the HF bands but also plan to work
challenging paths on the low bands, emphasis on Europe. The team will use
Elecraft K3s, small PAs and vertical antennas. ClubLog uploads and LoTW uploads
will occur daily and OQRS will be available. QSL direct and bureau via the OQRS

21/03/2013: Ted, JF1CCH, plans to be active as V73TS from the Republic of the
Marshall Islands between 21st and 26th March 2013. Plans are to be QRV 40-10

22/03/2013: Look for Alan VK4WR as E6RQ and Graeme VK4FI as E6SG to be active
from Niue Island (OC-040, WLOTA 2139, Grid Loc. AH50) between 22-29 March 2013.

LOOKING AHEAD -

23/03/2013: Look for Jose, CE8DMT, to be active again from Puerto Williams,
Isla Navarino (SA-050, DICE ICE-901, WAP CHL-13, WW Loc. FD65EB), 23rd and 24th
of March 2013. The island forms part of the Commune of Cabo de Hornos, the
southernmost commune in Chile and in the world, belonging to Antartica Chilena
Province. Jose will operate according to the following schedule: 15M (21.277 @
13:30 to 15:30 UTC) and 10M (28.477 @ 16:00 to 17:00 UTC). Jose uses a 3

30/03/2013: Operators Ali A71BX, Khalid A71CO, Ali A71CV, Saif A71AM and Andy
RA9CKQ will be active in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (30-31 March) from Dukhan,
Qatar. Plans are for a Multi-Two entry using the callsign A71AM. QSL via A71AM,

30/03/2013: Ray, WQ7R, will once again be active as HQ9R for the CQWW WPX SSB
Contest (30-31 March) from Isla de Roatan (NA-057, WLOTA 1671, Grid Loc. EK66),
Honduras. A Single-Op/Single-Band (10m)/Low-Power entry is planned. QSL direct

30/03/2013: The Las Tunas Contest Crew, T48K, Las Tunas, Cuba (NA-015, WLOTA
0032), will be active during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (30-31 March) as a
Multi-Single entry. The team includes Hugo F5FYO as guest operator, Alex CO8KA,
Alejandro CM8AKY, Doug CO8DM, Del CO8DRG and Raul CO8ZZ. QSL for this operation

30/03/2013: The YE1ZAT club station team and YE0X contest team will be active
in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (30-31 March) as a Multi-Multi entry from Bekasi,
Indonesia (OC-021, WLOTA 1660, WW Loc. OI33MU). Plans are for a Multi-Multi

01/04/2013: Mauri, AG1LE, will be actve as E51DXX from Titikaveka, Rarotonga
Island (OC-013, WW Loc. BG08CR), South Cook Islands, between 1st and 13th April

06/04/2013: Look for Jeff, VA3QSL, to be active holiday style as 8P9HI from
Farther Away Cottage, Bayfield, St. Philip Parish, island of Barbados (NA-021,
WLOTA 0999), from 6-13th April, 2013. The cliff top cottage overlooks the East
coast beach of Skeete's Bay (WW Loc. GK03GE). QRV on the HF bands, conditions

06/04/2013: Guy, F5MNW, will be active as FR/F5MNW from Reunion Island (AF-016,
DIFO FR-001, WLOTA 1812, WWFF FFF-011) between 6-29th April, 2013. QRV on HF

19/04/2013: Wim, PA0WRS, plans to be active from Ameland Island (EU-038, WLOTA
1059) as homecall/p from 19-26th April, 2013. QRV on the HF bands, all modes,

23/04/2013: Pai, VU2PAI and Krish, W4VKU will be active from Bodu Finolhu
Island (Fun Island), South Male Atoll (WLOTA 3911, WW Loc. MJ63RU) in the Rep.
of Maldives (AS-013) between 23-30 April, 2013. Operating as 8Q7KP, plans are
for 2 stations (Elecraft K3/Acom 1000 and TS480Sat/Tentec Hercules II), with two
Butternut HF9V and a 2 element SteppIR for higher bands. They plan to setup OQRS

28/04/2013: Toshi, JP1IOF, Makoto, JI5RPT, along with a couple other JA
operators will be active from Chichi-jima (AS-031, JCG #10007, WLOTA 2269, Grid
Loc. QL17), Ogasawara Subprefecture (subprefecture of Tokyo prefecture),
Ogasawara archipelago, between 28 April and 5 May 2013. Toshi will use the
callsign JD1BLC, while Makoto will use JD1BLY. The club callsign JD1YBT will
also be used. Plans are to be QRV on all bands (160?-6m) and all modes. QSL

10/05/2013: Continuing the Camb-Hams traditional Scottish Island activations,
GS3PYE/p will be active once again from the isle of Mull (IOSA NH15, SCOTIA
CN10, WLOTA 2485, Grid Loc. IO76), Inner Hebrides (EU-008), from Friday 10th May
until Thursday 16th May, 2013. All HF bands from 600m (472kHz) to 10m covered
with five stations on air simultaneously, all capable of running the legal power
limit from five linear amplifiers. Also 6m, 4m and 2m with a great take-off to
the UK and Europe, again all at legal limit. With the success of EME last year

26/07/2013: Operators Jacques ON5OO, Jean-Jacques ON7EQ, Noel ON4NS, Pascal
ON5RA, Ann ON5AR, Roger ON6WU, Martin ON4VMA, Frank ON5NQ, Peter ON8ZZ and
Frederik ON8ZL will be active as TM7T from Grand Ile (DIFM MA-004, WLOTA 0424),
Iles Chausey (EU-039) on 26-28 July, 2013. This will include a Multi-Op 24hr
entry in the RSGB IOTA Contest. They plan to be QRV on 80-10 metre CW and SSB.

08/09/2013: Look for Hubert, OE3FHA, to be active as IS0/OE3FHA from the island

2013. QRV on 40, 20 and 15 metre SSB, with 100 watts and a CP6/Diamond antenna.

28/10/2013: Tom, OE2ATN and Franz, OE2SNL have planned a suitcase-dx-pedition
to the island of Grenada (J3, NA-024, WLOTA 0718) from 28th October until 10th
November, 2013. Callsigns not yet known. They will be QRV on the HF bands using
CW, SSB and RTTY, with 100-200 watts. A website is currently under construction.

15/03/2013: The DARC district Baden (A) celebrates its 60th anniversary with
the special callsign DL60BADEN and the S-DOK 60DA until the end of the year. QSL

15/03/2013: On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the ham-radio-group of
the General-Steinhoff-Kaserne and the Airportfestival 2013 of the Airport museum
in Berlin Gatow the specialcallsign DR10EDBG is set up from 1 February to 31
December, 2013. Date of the Airportfestival: 7-8 September, 2013 as the
Airportfestival: 14089 Berlin, "Am Flugplatz Gatow" During the period 1-30
September the Special DOK FPF13 will be activated. QSL only via the bureau - No
direct QSL, eQSL or lotw !! [DXNL]

15/03/2013: Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club (CRARC) has been allocated the
special event callsign VI100ACT as part of the celebrations for the 100th
anniversary of Canberra, Australia (OC-001, WLOTA 1520). The callsign will be
activated by club members until the end of 2013 in a variety of locations
ranging from members home QTH's to a variety of sites around the ACT area,
including a number of SOTA peaks. Between 0100z on 16 March and 0100z 17 March,
a club station will be using this callsign from the Kowen Forrest for the John
Moyle Memorial Field Day. They are planning to be active all bands 160m to 23cm
excluding WARC bands. They are planning on activating the callsign on a variety
of frequencies from LF through to UHF and using a number of different modes.
Please note that at this stage, QSL will occur via the bureau only (via VK1ACA),

16/03/2013: The Foyle and District Amateur Radio Club (callsign MN0AKU) have
been issued a Special Event call sign. GB5SPD . This is to celebrate Saint
Patrick's Day as an annual event. They are on the air to celebrate this event
from March 15th until March 18th each year. All contacts will receive a QSL
card. Reports from SWL's are also most welcome and will also recieve the QSL
card by return post/bureau. The Club is located approx 5 miles south from Derry
City, on the banks of the River Foyle, and 10 miles North of Strabane, County

16/03/2013: Special event station GB6CGC will be aired to celebrate 60 years of
Coventry Gliding Club Limited. Starting flying in the prevous year at Baginton
Airport in Coventry the members incorporate the club on 17th March 1953. Join us
in celebrating their great hobby and those 60 years ago who helped to allow so
many members since to enjoy such a wonder amateur sport ever since. This station
will be operating on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March 2013. There will also
be a further event later on in the year, possibly June. The station will be
operated by Brian Leathley (G8GMU), Adam Gilmore (G1ZHD), Steve Riddington

16/03/2013: In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of HMS Belfast's launch
on 17th March 1938, the London Group will be active as GB75HMSB between 16th

16/03/2013: Joop, PD0RKA, celebrates his 70th birthday with the special call
PD70JT. He'll be on the HF bands from 16th March until 13 April 2013 and send

16/03/2013: The TC Special Wireless Activity Team will be active as TC18M on
16-18th March 2013 in Memoriam of the Naval Victory of 18 March 1915. All of the

16/03/2013: Stewart GW0ETF, will be using the special callsign GW100C from his
QTH in Bangor (WW Loc. IO73WF, SH57), Wales (EU-005, WLOTA 0453), on 16-17 March
2013 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the RSGB. QSL via M0OXO's OQRS system

17/03/2013: On March 17th 2013 special station PD70AW will be on the air from
the Bunker Museum Den Haag (Atlantik Wall STp XXXXIII H Type: St622 Bau Nr:
8598), on the Boulevard of Scheveningen. Activity will be from 0800 UTC on the
HF bands. Furthermore, the will try to put a station on the air on the VHF and
UHF bands. This Bunker, one of the last remains of STp.XXXXIII H was build in
1943 (70 years ago) and is part of the AtlantikWall therefore it is of Great

17/03/2013: Members of Team Cartagena, Cartagena, Spain, will use the special
event callsign EH5SIP between 17-31 March, 2013, to commemorate the 125th
anniversary of the launching of the submarine Isaac Peral. Activity will be on

18/03/2013: The West Tyrone ARC will be taking part in the St. Patrick's Day
celebrations on Monday 18 March 2013 in Omagh, Co Tyrone, Ireland (EU-115, WLOTA
2484). The club will be running a special event station using the callsign
GB1SPD. They will be operational from the Strule Arts Centre in the Heart of
Omagh Town during the Omagh District Council St Patrick Day Parade and Festival.
The club will be operating on HF, VHF and UHF, Echolink and digital modes
between 11am and 5pm. Special event QSL cards will be available to those who
wish to have a confirmation of the QSO, direct or by the RSGB bureau. Details

19/03/2013: GB1PER will be operated by members of the Worcester Radio Amateurs
Association on 19 and 20 March 2013 as a demonstration station for the primary
school at Perdiswell, Worcester as participation for this year's National
Science Week. They plan to operate on HF and VHF during school hours with the
intention to give as many junior children as possible the opportunity to get on
the air and how amateur radio encompasses the spectrum of the science

INTERNATIONAL MARCONI DAY -
Organized by the Cornish Radio Amateur Club, the International Marconi Day (IMD)
is a 24-hour amateur radio event held annually to celebrate the birth of
Guglielmo Marconi (25 April 1874). It is not a contest, but an opportunity for
amateurs around the world to make contacts with historic Marconi sites using HF
communications techniques. This year's event will be held on 20 April, from
00.00 UTC through 23.59 UTC. Details, including information on the relevant

KH9 - WAKE ATOLL DXPEDITION -
We are pleased to announce the call sign for the Wake Atoll Commemoration
DXpedition anticipated taking place at the beginning of October, 2013.
K9W has been assigned to this event! The actual days of use will be announced on
our website and through the normal media channels.
Additionally, we are happy to announce that Val, NV9L and Col, MMØNDX have
joined the Team as Pilot Stations.

T2 - TUVALU
13-March-2013 - BREAKING NEWS: Yesterday we reported that Clive GM3POI was
already in Tuvalu with the other three team members stuck in Fiji, on standby
for a flight to T2. Today, some good news and some bad news. Gav GM0GAV, Rob
GM3YTS and Tom GM4FDM are now booked on the Thursday flight to Tuvalu, however,
since arriving in Fiji two days ago, their luggage has not arrived and is still
missing. Gav reports Clive is ready to QRV, so look out for T2GM soon. [DX
