11/12/2014: Nick, G3RWF, is heading back to Southern Africa for a 5 week holiday starting in Lesotho and being active as 7P8NH between 11-14th December 2014. He will also be on the air from South Africa from about 18th December 2014 to 5th January 2015 as ZS1/G3RWF, and then from Namibia from about 6-13th January 2015 as V5/G3RWF. 01/12/2014: December is IARU Region 1 Youngsters On The Air month and the RSGB has arranged for Clubs/Groups to use the special callsign G14YOTA, with regional variations, on a rota basis. An application form is available on the RSGB website. The main requirement is to use the callsign to put youngsters on the air, and, for this purpose, anyone under the age of 26 is considered to be a youngster. Applicants are encouraged to think about making the most out of the activation by including other activities, such as Morse demonstrations, ARDF hunts, WSPR beacon displays, listening to remote SDRs, use of Arduino/Raspberry Pi, and so on. Applications must be received by 22 September. [GB2RS]

On November 7, Paolo IZ2QEJ arrived at Dome C - Concordia Station (AA MN-06, WAP MNB-03, IOTA AN-016, WWFF ANFF-006), Antarctica, where he will be working as a medical doctor there until February 4, 2015. The Station Leader has granted permission to Paolo to operate from the Radio Room outside working hours. Paolo will sign IA/IZ2QEJ and be active on HF bands. QSL direct to IZ2QEJ.

PQ0T, TRINDADE ISLAND -

A 5-man team plan to be active for 4-5 days from Trindade Island (IOTA SA-010, DIB OC-02) as PQ0T during the second half of 2015. DX-World has received full details of this DXpedition, but in accordance with their team leader we publish limited info for the moment. [DX-World]

TI9/3Z9DX, COCOS ISLAND -

TI9A is a DXpedition to Cocos Island by 3Z9DX, K7CO and TI2HMJ set for February 16-23, 2015. However, due a very recent rules and regulation change recommended by Sutel (Costa Rica telecoms) all non-Costa Rican operators must now sign TI/homecall. Therefore, TI9/3Z9DX will be used throughout this expedition and not TI9A. TI9A website (www.nielsen.net/ti9a/) will be updated to reflect this callsign change. [DX-World]
