Best Cheap HF antenna

Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to “make sure my HamitUp is working?” I want to work on a project in a few months but I need to Confirm everything I just bought is working first.

I want to listen to 15.000, some AM stations, CB, whatever else to prove it’s working.

Can I use a spool of wire or something I read and ground it?
