Did you know? Here’s a space weather and radio propagation educational tidbit – from http://SunSpotWatch.com – at 14:00 UTC on 2017-08-06:
With the naked (but, protected – never look DIRECTLY at the Sun!) eye, the Sun appears as an almost featureless disk. With telescopes, sunspots may be seen on the Sun, but again, do NOT look directly at the Sun, even through a telescope! Project the Sun’s image onto a white paper or other white surface, and view the Sun indirectly.
Sunspots come in cycles. A sunspot cycle averages in length of approximately eleven (11) years from minimum (no sunspots) to minimum.
