Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2017 Aug 06 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2670 (S05E11, Hsx/alpha) produced only low-level B-class activity over the past 24 hours. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low over the next three days (06-08 Aug).

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels this period with a peak flux of 6,430 pfu observed at 05/1920 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels throughout the period.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels throughout the forecast period (06-08 Aug) and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels over the next three days.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, indicated a sustained enhancement due to the influence of a positive polarity CH HSS. Total magnetic field strength was steady between 4-6 nT while the Bz component was variable between +/- 5 nT. Solar wind speeds were between 600-800 km/s with a gradual trend towards lower speeds over the reporting period. Phi angle was oriented in the positive sector.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to reflected slowly weakening influence of the positive polarity CH HSS over days one and two (06-07 Aug). A weak additional enhancement is expected on day three (08 Aug) from the influence of another positive polarity CH HSS.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to active this period under continued CH HSS influence.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to reach active levels on day one (06 Aug) and unsettled levels on day two (07 Aug) as CH HSS influence weakens. Another positive polarity CH HSS is expected to cause isolated active periods on day three (08 Aug).
