Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2017 Aug 07 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2670 (S04W10, Hsx/alpha) was quiet and stable throughout the period. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low over the next three days (07-09 Aug).

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels this period with a peak flux of 8,650 pfu observed at 06/1715 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels throughout the period.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels throughout the forecast period (07-09 Aug) and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels over the next three days.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, indicated waning influence from a positive polarity CH HSS. Total magnetic field strength remained between 2-5 nT while the Bz component was mostly variable between +/- 2 nT. Solar wind speeds continuously decreased from around 630 km/s to around 520 km/s by the periods end. Phi angle was predominantly oriented in the positive sector over the past 24 hours.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to continually weaken as the positive polarity CH HSS wanes through on day one (07 Aug). A weak enhancement is expected on day two (08 Aug) from the influence of another positive polarity CH HSS which will likely carry into day three (09 Aug).

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to reach unsettled levels on day one (07 Aug) as CH HSS influence weakens. Another positive polarity CH HSS is expected to cause isolated active periods on day two (08 Aug). Quiet to unsettled conditions are expected on day three (09 Aug) as CH HSS effects weaken and subside.
