Echolink Node radio suggestion

Hey guys,

Just wanted to check in and see if I could get suggestions for which radio I should use for an echolink node (simplex).

My boss is allowing me to place an antenna on top of our building (~40-50ft) and I’ve decided that I’d like to create an echolink node.

Ideally, I’d like to spend <$150 ($200 absolute max) on a radio to drive the thing. I have a yaesu 3100R in the car that I really, really like but I’m not sure it would be up to the task transmitting constantly for 2-3 hours at a time during nets.

I’m also open to adding fans to the case, etc to help it out during high activity.

What rig would you guys pick up?

Recommended battery replacement for the Yaesu FT-60R?

I’m resurrecting my old Yaesu FT60R because we finally got a new repeater! But the FNB-83 stock battery won’t take a charge due to it’s age. I’ve looked on the web and have seen a plethora of batteries to the point where I’m confused! Can anyone recommend replacement battery for the FT-60R/FNB-83?
