POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. The Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County will offer a presentation on how to be familiar with and get involved with amateur (ham) radio at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, 392 Creek Road.
The training is free and the public is welcome to attend. Preregistration is required.
The program will focus on the different types of licenses and radios, how to obtain an amateur radio license, established clubs and organizations for amateur radio operators, and how ham radio operators assist in emergencies and will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
