ST, SUDAN
Lourens,ZS6AKB, is currently active as ST2/ZS6AKB when mobile in the
Darfur region. He normally lives in a small suburb of a town called
Springs approx. 70 km east of Johannesburg. The length of his stay is
not known. He was spotted on 14181 kHz on Jan 10 from 1600-1640 UTC
using a FT857 with a Tarrheel 11 antenna. QSL via homecall.

SU, EGYPT
Gerd,SU/DJ5IW, will be QRV again from Egypt on 20m and above starting
in the second half of January. The manmade noise in SU is S9 which
makes it very difficult to hear weak stations. QSL via homecall.

TT, CHAD
Sergiy,US3EZ, will be a very coveted QSO partner signing TT8/US3EZ

Gerd,DJ4KW, is signing V31YN on 160m-10m till Jan 24. QSL via homecall.

VP8/A, ANTARCTICA, AN-016
Craig,VK6JJJ, is a member of the "Antarctica Australian National
Antarctic Research Expedition 2013/14" and will be active as VK0JJJ
from Mawson Base in the Mac Robertson Land until January 2014.
His equipment includes a SDR transceiver Flex 5000A, an Emtron DX-2SP
linear amplifiers, a MFJ-986 tuner and a Heil Headset. His antenna is
a sloping Delta Loop. He will work with QRO on 160m-6m with emphasis
put on 6m in SSB and digital modes. QSL via K7CO.

XV, LAOS
The license for Bruce,XW4XR, has been renewed and he is active before
his return to Vietnam. He plans to repair his antennas for the lowbands
and will travel to Laos several times throughout the year. Bruce is
working in Vietnam and holds the callsign 3W3B. QSLs via E21EIC.

YA, AFGHANISTAN
Eric,K9GY (T6MO), is back in Afghanistan now. He brought some new
lowband antennas and hopes to show up on the bands soon. If possible
he could join the CQWW 160m Contest at the end of January. He has to
return to the US in early May, perhaps he manages to visit Dayton.

Iliam,LZ1ZF (T6LG), tries to hand out band points on the lowbands
every day for the next few months. He has installed some new receiving
antennas but will leave the country in early March. QSL via homecall.

YU, SERBIA
The "Old Timers Club" of the Amateur Radio Union of Serbia (YU0OTC)
celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2013 and plans to use the special
call YU15OTC almost every day in all modes on all bands. QSL via YU6A.

Z8, SOUTH SUDAN
Ken,K4ZW, is active in CW on 80m-10m signing Z81Z from Juba. The length
of his stay is not known. QSL direct via homecall, LoTW.

AFRICAN TOUR: Peter,HA3AUI, is once again heading to Western Africa. Listen
for him to be active as 6W2SC from Senegal and J5UAP from Guinea-Bissau
between Jan 17 and Mar 10. Peter has used these callsigns before.
His equipment includes an Elecraft K3 with 500 watts, a Spiderbeam and
verticals. He will work mainly in CW and digital modes on 40m-10m but
may work also in other modes upon request. He also plans to activate

Call for donations for the LU6W DXpedition: The German DX Foundation (GDXF)
also supported the LU6W DXpedition, which activated the last
South American IOTA group SA-096 for the first time a few days ago.
The experienced crew with Cezar,VE3LYC, Johan,PA3EXX, and members
of the Radio Club Puerto Madryn had to fight with many difficulties
on Escondida Island. A team and a boat member were injured so that they
had to return for medical reasons. The equipment on the island was
secured provisionally and was a robbery of the heavy seas. The loss of
multiple radios, antennas, a laptop and other equipment is very hard

WAP Directories: The new release of the WAP WADA and WAP WADA Directories
as well as the WAP Check Program of IK6CAC have been uploaded to the
SILENT KEY: John Dack,W7KH (ex W7GUV), passed away at the age of 91 years
on Jan 7. John was licensed since 1938 and sat at the top of DXCC Mixed
standings with 398 DXCC entities.
Our condolences and sympathy are with his family and friends.
We do not want to be sad that we lost him, but grateful that we could
get to know him as a radio friend. We will always keep him in memory.

QRV from Reunion Island (DIFO FR-001, WFF FFF-011, WLOTA 1812) between
Jan 21 and Feb 9. They will work with bud dipoles on 40m-10m with
emphasis on 30m (CW) and 20m (SSB). QSLs via homecalls (bureau/direct).

AS-101, HS, Malay Peninsula East group: Eddy,ON4AFU, plans to visit
Koh Samui (WLOTA 1384) from Jan 21 until Feb 18. He will be QRV as
HS0ZJF/8 with 100 watts and wire antenna only in CW on 40m-10m.
He also plans to activate the IOTA group AS-126 later.

EU-089, CU8, Western group: Hermann,HB9CRV, and Rudolf,HB9CQL, will show up
from Flores Island (WLOTA 0947) between Jan 22 and Feb 8. They will use
the callsigns CT8/HB9CQL and CT8/CT3FN until Jan 25 and after that
CR2V especially on the lowbands. QSL via HB9CRV.

NA-001, C6, Great Bahama Bank group: George,W4BUW (C6AGH),
Joseph,W8GEX (C6DX), Janet,W8CAA (C6AYL), and Joe,AA4NN (C6A/AA4NN),
chose Great Exuma for their next DXpedition from Jan 20-27. They want
to work with three stations in SSB, CW and RTTY on 160m-10m.

NA-085, W4, Florida State North West (Bay to Wakulla County) group:
Dennis,WA2USA/4, will be active from St. George Island (USi FL0076S)
from Jan 20 until Feb 27. He also plans to activate the lighthouse
there. His main activities will be in CW on 30m, 20m and 15m and
in SSB on 40m and 20m. He will work on all bands during the upcoming
ARRL International DX CW Contest and the NAQP RTTY Contest.

NA-101, J7, Dominica: Bernie,W3UR, and Tony,N3ME, and their wives are
planning to visit Dominica Island from Jan 22 until Feb 11. Besides of
relaxing they will work as J76A and J77A in holiday style where the
numbers 76 and 77 correspond to the year in which both got their first
licenses. They will work with Elecraft K3 and wires in CW, SSB and RTTY
on 160m-6m and want to take part in the WPX RTTY Contest as J76A.

NA-143, W5, Texas State East (Matagorda to Jefferson County) group:
Joe,K5KUA/5, will be QRV again from Galveston Island (USi TX001S)
working in CW on 40m-10m from Jan 18-21. QSL via K5KUA (bureau/direct).

OC-073, JD1, Minami Torishima: Take,JG8NQJ/JD1, is handing out IOTA points
from Marcus Island (Loc QL64xg) until mid April. He is working in a
meteorological base and only active on the bands during his spare time.
His focus lies in CW on 17m and also on 15m/12m/10m in CW.

SA-050, CE8/9, Magallanes & Antartica Chilena Province group: Jose,CE8DMT,
is active from Puerto Williams on Navarino Island. The length of his
stay is not known but he has been spotted in SSB on 40m and 15m.

NON-IOTA: Gil,F4FET/p, is activating the lighthouse "Boulogne sur mer,
south west pier" (ARLHS FRA-089) only in SSB on the HF bands until
Jan 31. QSO's count also for WFF reference FFF-043. QSL via homecall.

try to work as 6W2SC/p from 6WFF-005 on Jan 16/17.
