20/01/2013: Look for Dennis, WA2USA to be active as WA2USA/4 from St.

27 February 2013. He also plans to operate from the lighthouse (ARLHS

WLOTA 3178) while he is on the island. QRV mostly CW on 30, 20 and 15
metres.

metres and up with a Buddipole antenna system (longer than standard

21/01/2013: Eddy, ON4AFU, will be active as HS0ZJF/8 from Koh Samui

40-10

22/01/2013: "The Daily DX" Editor, Bernie McClenny (W3UR) and his father
Tony
(N3ME) will be active holiday style from Saint Andrew Parish, island of
Dominica
(NA-101) in late January-early February 2013. Bernie will operate as J77A

January-1 February) and Tony will operate as J76A (22 January-11 February);
both
will be QRV in their spare time on 160-6 metre CW, SSB and RTTY, using K3s
and
wire antennas. Tony plans to operate in the CQ WPX RTTY Contest (9-10
February).
The special prefixes are in celebration of the beginning of their Amateur
Radio

24/01/2013: A team of 12 operators from the Bahia Blanca DX Group (LU6EVD)
plan
to be active as L22D from Isla Gama (SA-022), Buenos Aires province, from
24-27
January 2013. They will use three modes (SSB - CW - PSK31) on all
possible
bands, including WARC 12m and 17m. The team leader will be Osmar, LU8DWR,
along
with Carlos, LU7DSY, and multiple operators that have not yet been
mentioned.

01/02/2013: Sean, KX9X, is going to be at the ARRL SC State convention.
During
his trip he will attempt to validate Dewees Island (NA-110, USi SC042, WW
Loc.
FM02DU), Charleston county, South Carolina, for the U.S. islands award
program.
The plan is to activate the island on 1 February 2013 (1500 - 2000z)
running QRP
with his Yaesu 817 on both CW and SSB. Sean will be close to salt water,
so

The main focus of his trip is a Single-Op entry in the CQWW WPX SSB

The team is now complete with the last op's coming of Jean-Louis, F5NHJ

David, EI9FBB.
Frank/F4AJQ is the team leader of the Back Office, in France; unfortunately
he
can't go to 5X.
Seb/F5UFX, and Alain/F6ENO will be the team leaders of the Dxpedition in
5X.

On January 15th, after one full month of voting, the "DXpedition of the

2012" survey closed. Thank you to everyone who participated.
We are proud to announce that HK0NA - Malpelo has won the DX World -
DXpedition
of the Year 2012 poll. True recognition and hearty congratulations to
all
involved in that fantastic expedition.
Acknowledgement must also be made to 7O6T - Yemen who came runner-up. It
was
duly noted, at one point, this DXpedition was top of the leader board as
