* PLEASE NOTE: The report "could" contain "Pirate/SLIM" operations or
more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
First Worry Later" (WFWL).

3B8, MAURITIUS. A few sources report that Darren, G0TSM, will be active
as 3B8/G0TSM from between September 18-28th. Darren will be there on
holiday, so activity will be limited to 2-3 hours per day on 40-6 meters
using CW, SSB and RTTY. His equipment is an IC-7000 with wire antennas
for 40-10m and a 2 element Quad on 6m. Participation in the CQWW DX RTTY
Contest (September 28-29th) will be very limited due to his return flight
time. Darren states [edited], "Please do not send me any paper QSL cards,
either direct or via the Bureau. Please use the OQRS feature on ClubLog
to request Bureau or direct cards. Also, requests for Bureau QSL cards
can be made via E-mail. The log will be uploaded to LoTW and ClubLog
during the holiday."

5C0, MOROCCO (Special Event Cancelled). The "Council of Europe Radio
Amateur Club" (CERAC - TP2CE) was expected to team up with the "Associ-
ation Royale des Radio Amateur du Maroc" (ARRAM) to activate the special
callsign 5C0CE between August 20-21st, but the operation was cancelled
by the ARRAM's President 16 hours before the CERAC team was to leave for
Morocco. Francis, F6FQK, one of CERAC's Administrative Personal, informs
OPDX that they received the Moroccan licence many months ago and the Radio
Amateurs from Morocco have been preparing for this operation since last
year with a lot of enthusiasm. There has been no direct details and/or
motive received on behalf of the ARRAM's President about any problem.
Francis believes that this incident is very damaging to the ham radio
community. Also, the members of the CERAC team, who were expected to
participate in the event, personally funded this expedition (train,
fly etc…), and now it's too late to recover their paid expenses.

9M6DXX & 9M8Z GOING QRT. Steve, 9M6DXX, informs OPDX: "After more than
eight years in Malaysia, my wife Eva, 9M6EVA, and I have decided to move
on to another part of the world. We leave Malaysia on November 1st;
therefore, 9M6DXX will go QRT some time in October. 9M8Z has already
closed down; the last QSO from that station was made in the RSGB IOTA
Contest in July. We will be moving to Bonaire, and we hope to be active
with PJ4 callsigns before the end of the year. Thanks for all the QSOs
from 9M6DXX and 9M8Z (also 9M6DXX/P, 9M8Z/P, XU7DXX, V8FEO, V85/9M8Z,
FK/G4JVG, T32MI / CI / VI / SI, 4W6A, GD4JVG and 9M4SLL) since 2005.
It's been fun! 73, Steve, 9M6DXX"
