BITS & PIECES -
3D2, FIJI & ROTUMA
UPDATE: Andy, LZ2HM joins the team.
Stan LZ1GC, Rocky 3D2DD and Andy LZ2HM plan to be active from Fiji &
Rotuma
during the period September 20 to October 15, 2013. Complete info at:
3DA0, SWAZILAND
Swaziland DXpedition in November 2013
I am W5UQ, Bob Hardie (aka 3DA0UQ). We have a group of guys going
to
Swaziland for a couple of weeks and will be there for the CQWW DX CW
contest
in November 2013.
Please navigate to our website = SwaziDX.ORG/ for additional
information
and info about the TEAM.
We're a 12 op (so far) plus one pilot team running 4 stations,
covering
all the HF bands (160 to 10 meters) and 6 meters as a secondary goal if
we
spot any openings, on CW, SSB and RTTY. On the topic of RTTY, we hope to
be
a little different to many DXpeditions and have a solid focus on
maximizing
our RTTY QSO count by having a dedicated full-time RTTY station on the
air
from start to finish. We also won't forget folks running "barefoot"
without
a linear and QRP stations - our operators will put out special calls
for
these categories from time to time when working heavy pile-ups.
We'll also be QRV in the CQ World Wide DX CW contest with a
multi-two
entry. We will have an online log. Plans are to be on most all HF
bands
with SSB, CW and RTTY. Plus monitoring 6M for openings.
I have been trying to get Hal, ZS6WB to come with us and do 6M and
maybe
2M EME. However, he says he can't make it. Frosty and I will stay
one
night with Hal and I will put on the pressure then for him to join us
with his gear.
Main call: 3DA0ET for the contest and other times. However, we also
have
3DA0CF
(Frosty K5LBU) and 3DA0UQ (Bob W5UQ). [W5UQ via NG3K]
T30, WEST KIRIBATI
Ted, JF1CCH and Kazu, JA1FUF are planning a DX-vacation to West Kiribati
during
28th November to 4th December, 2013. Call sign not yet, but nearly OK. HF
bands
(almost 40m to 10m) CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK, with Ted mainly CW & SSB and
Kazu
mainly RTTY & PSK. TX: 100W and dipole. Stay tuned! [NG3K]
