26/09/2014: Pekka, OH2YY, reports "will be returning to Bhutan late September this year using the callsign A52O. I will arrive in Paro late afternoon on Sept. 26th and will depart in the morning of Oct. 6th. I will be staying close to city of Paro. This time I have nothing else to do and I can focus 100% on operating amateur radio! The QTH will be up on a hill facing to north giving a good take off to North America, most of South America, northern Asia, Middle-East and whole Europe should be good. I will have a K3 + KPA500, a 2-el tribander, 7m telescope mast and dipoles for 24, 18 and 7 MHz and two 10-12m fiberglass poles. I will have every day 28, 21 and 14 MHz available and at least one (hopefully two) of the dipoles. I will be operating SSB. I try to start already on Sept. 26th with one of the dipoles. From 27th onwards I will have the yagi up. On Oct. 6th I will have an early morning flight and need to go QRT sometime during the night. QSL checking will be here and in LoTW. 03/10/2014: Ben, DO1BEN and Barbara DO1IQ plan to activate Texel Island (EU-038, WLOTA 0043) as PD/homecall from 3-12 October 2014. Their QTH on Texel Island will be the village of De Cocksdorp (QRA JO23KD). Texel is located in the northern part of The Netherlands in the Wadden Sea, province of North Holland. TRX is Yaesu FT2000. We use self made vertical antennas for 10 and 20 meters. For 40 meters we will set up a inverted V (wide space) dipole. Activities are on digimodes (RTTY and PSK31), and also in SSB mode. RH24CH), located on Mele Bay, Efate island [aka Ile Vate], New Hebrides (OC-035), between 3-15 October, 2014. Efate island is part of the Shefa Province in The Republic of Vanuatu. They will have 2 stations (K3s + amplifiers) plus a reserve (K2) on CW, RTTY and SSB. Antennas include 6 element 6m yagi and verticals for 30/40/80m on the edge of the ocean. They plan activity from 40-6 metres, using FT-857 100W and GPAs 40m, 20m, 15m, 10m and 6m. Hanga Roa is the main town, harbour and capital of the Chilean province of Easter Island. DX8DX UPDATE -

Charles tells I.C.P.O. "Further news from Dindo DX8DX for the upcoming IOTA activation. Dindo's plans have changed which means he will be only able to activate one of the proposed Islands this time around. He hopes to make the crossing (between 12 and 18 hours depending on the Sea state) and to hopefully be in Pangutaran (IOTA OC-188) by 26 September. He will remain there until the 3rd October. Of course I must again remind you that Dindo will be working intermittently throughout this period so operating will be sporadic periods but nevertheless as he is now there for a full week and that this is the rarest of the groups, we hope this will be a popular outcome for the IOTA chasers." Dindo has now arrived on Pangutaran Island (IOTA OC-188) ahead of schedule and hopes to be QRV in the coming hours. [M0OXO]

IOTA Bash 2015 -
