Tony Dixon G4CJC
Thin during the week but really quite good at the weekend for the All Asian DX contest.
W1AW was about again but then there was YW5D (Isla La Tortuga, Venezuela), VQ94JC (Chagos Is), S01WS (Western Sahara) and others.
I worked Sri Lanka (first for me), Azerbaijan, Mauritius, Hungary and Cyprus. Not too bad.
Andy, M0HLT , finally got back to us. Monday he worked EA7/G1wuu 5-3/5-4, EA8JK 5-9+ / 5-4, PU1MHZ 5-3/5-5 and AO8BWC 5-5/5-5. He heard 9K2WA 3-3RX, 7X2ARA?? 3-3RX, ZS6AIA? and 3-3RX.
He says, “Hi Tony ( and the gang) well it's been over 12 months since I last sent a report in, not been QRV until about 3 months ago, and after a " stint " in VP8 land, and after 8 years in Cornwall living I've moved back up to the other end of the Southwest of England, near my home city of Bath (world famous for 2000 year old roman Baths, amongst other historical facts) so I'm still keeping a eye on 10, via an original 706 , and a ground mounted sirio 4000 mobile whip with 6 x 1/4 wave radials, all fed with westflex 103. 10 opened up last night as it is now, as I type 19:05UTC Wednesday evening.
The DX I've heard has been unexpected but seasonal changes and the solar flux is still around 125, rising over the month I believe. Sorry it's a long over 73 ”.
No problem glad you are back.
Ross, ZL3ADT has a problem, “I am trying to find an email for YU7BC only one wkd on 10m or does he QSL? 73 Ross.” Can anyone help?
Steven, 2E0NHR, is also back. Sunday he worked EG8BFS 5/9. “Hi Tony I'm please to be back and caught my first 10m QSO for ages! hope to get more soon !”
I look forward to more reports from you as activity increases (surely it will?).
And Arie, 9W2VVH is back, now we know things are improving. (And for those who don’t have any Malay Google translate is your friend). Sunday, Hi Tony. "Apa khabar? Semoga sihat-sihat hendaknya". Here is my report for this week.***** Sep 5, 2014 only wkd BD4UJ on ssb. *****
Enjoying participated in contest but base on my free time.

Surprisingly, I received an eQSL report from SWL Rudolf PY2-81502 reported that he cpi my PSK31 QSO with I1TOL. 2014 Malaysian National Field Day
The Malaysian Amateur Radio League (MARL), will be organizing 2014 National Field Day, for 24 hours beginning from Monday, 15th September 2014, 5pm until Tuesday, 16th September 2014, 10 pm. (16th Sept 2014 - Malaysia Day).
Mark, G4SKO has worked a few. On Wednesday UA9? ,4Z5MU, 5B4AIF, PU2YHP, PJ4NX, VP2ETE, CT3FT, CN8YZ, 5E7R, W1AW/5. Not bad at all. He finishes with, “Things are looking up again after the summer doldrums. Worked into Asia and Japan over the previous weeks, always a good sign and the usual flock of Russian stations. Looking back over my logs for the SpE season it wasn't that bad, although the openings were short lived by comparison to previous years they were still there. I did manage some short skip inter "G" Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland and Southern Ireland. Some of the more northerly contacts exhibited quite a raspy sound reminiscent of Aurora albeit weak but no-one else seemed to notice this effect. Maybe we get our own personal propagation here in Yorkshire?
So much for the past season and let's hope for some great opening into Autumn/Winter and as I write this Wed. afternoon 10 has opened to N. America. Keep up the great work Tony 73 de Mark G4SKO.”
It’s good to know folks do read this stuff. Cheers.
