 ARRL Exam Review for Ham Radio has been updated in advance of the release of the ninth edition of The ARRL General Class License Manual for Ham Radio. ARRL Exam Review is a free online resource for use with current editions of ARRL License Manuals. The service can be accessed via a web browser, and uses the official examination question pools to construct chapter-by-chapter reviews. Upon completing study, Exam Review helps the license candidate take practice exams with the same number and variety of questions that he or she will encounter on exam day. Practice tests can be taken over and over, scored in complete privacy, or even printed with an answer key. Exam Review includes quick feedback about the questions missed.
The update to Exam Review and the new edition General Class License Manualcoincides with a new General Class question pool released earlier this year by the National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators ( NCVEC). The new 2019 – 2023 General Class question pool becomes effective July 1, 2019 for examinations in the Amateur Radio Service. The 2015 – 2019 General Class pool remains in effect for exams given until June 30, 2019. ARRL Exam Review provides access to both the current and new General Class questions.

 To mark the Coronation of King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun(King Rama X) from May 4-6, 2019 the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King will be operating a special event station
The station will be operated from the Royal Thai Navy aircraft carrier, the Chakri Narubet, in the Gulf of Thailand from May 3-6 using the callsign HS10KING/mm.
This station will be making QSOs in the 40, 20, 15 and 10 metre HF bands, on 2 metres VHF and also using amateur radio satellites, including the Es’hail-2 / QO-100 satellite.
As usual all RAST members are welcome to attend this meeting and hopefully they will be able to have a QSO with HS10KING/mm.Consequently, the May meeting of RAST will be postponed to the second Sunday of the month, and will take place on Sunday May 12 at Sena Place Hotel when applications to take the upcoming Intermediate Class examination will be available

 “Our Sun really wakes up this week as we not only have some fast solar wind hitting Earth now that has already brought us up to active conditions, but we also have at least 4 solar storms that were launched on the Sun’s backside in less than 48 hours! Old regions 2738 and 2739 seem to be in an active region shootout to see which one can launch the biggest solar storm– Wham! Bam!
They are firing fast! As these regions rotate back into Earth view over the next few days, we will get a better look at them to see if they could possibly launch an Earth-directed solar storm once they reach the Earth-strike zone. Meanwhile, solar flux increases slowly, but as these regions rotate more into view, we could see flux rise back into the mid-70s. This means radio propagation could improve to marginal levels by week’s end! Learn the details of the fast solar wind hitting now, how long aurora might last, and what these returning regions have in store for us!”
