08/02/2013: Dave, N4QS, will be operating from Georgetown, Grand Cayman
Island
(NA-016, WLOTA 1042) as ZF2DP from 8-12 February 2013. He plans to be
active
during the CQ WPX RTTY contest (9-10 February) and will also operate some
CW and
SSB on the days before and after the contest -- primarily on the WARC
bands.
Dave will be using the ZF1A club station and running low power using
his
Elecraft K3. He will attempt to upload to ClubLog in real-time using the
N1MM
Gateway. QSL via LoTW or direct to N4QS. Online log is available at:
09/02/2013: Bob, 5B4AGN, has planned a lightweight Pacific trip for
February
2013. This will have him QRV as KH2/G3ZEM from the island of Guam (OC-026,
USi
GU003S, WFF KFF-110, WLOTA 0064) between 9-13th February and as V63ZM
from
Pohnpei Islands (OC-010) between 13-23 February. QRV on 80-10m but may
include
160m if useful antenna arrangements can be made. K3 + KPA-500. QSL via

LX7I during the CQWW WPX RTTY Contest (9-10 February) as a Multi-2 entry.

10/02/2013: Drew, N2RFA, will be active as C6ABB from Cable Beach, Nassau
[New
Providence Island] (NA-001, WLOTA 1115), Bahamas, from 10-21 between
February
2013. QRV on 80, 40, 20 and 17 metres. Drew will also be doing some digital
work
with PSK31, JT65, RTTY and possibly SSTV. QSL direct to N2RFA. All contacts

10/02/2013: Look for Elena RC5A, and Alex, RA1AGL to be activeas
HC2/homecalls
from Ecuador between 10 February and 9 March 2013. This will include
a
Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry in the ARRL DX CW Contest (16-17
February).
Outside the contest they will be QRV on 160-6 metres, including the WARC
bands,

10/02/2013: J52HF will be once again be on the air from 10 February until
2
March 2013. Some members of the Verona DX Team will return to Cumura (WW
Loc.
IK21DT) to help the mission with their work. In their spare time they will
be on
air on HF and 50MHz, only SSB. Operators include Livio IZ3BUR, Libero
IK3RBE,

11/02/2013: Valery, RG5A, will once again be active from the FM5BH QTH

Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry in the ARRL DX CW Contest (16-17

11/02/2013: Year 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the Russian Robinson
Club
(RRC). To celebrate this occasion several Cuban amateurs will activate
various
Cuba IOTA's as follows: T48RRC - NA-218, Moa Grande Island, planned to
be
activated from 11 to 14th of February. T47RRC - NA-086, Coco Island,
planned to
be activated from 14 to 16th of February. T46RRC - NA-204, Santa Maria
Island,
planned to be activated from 16 to 18th of February. T46T - NA-204, Santa
Maria
Island, CW team plans to participate in ARRL International DX CW Contest
(16-17
February) as M/S or M/2 entry. QSL via OQRS, direct to RZ3EC, or via
LoTW.

11/02/2013: Tom, AA9A, will be active once again from the island of
Antigua
(NA-100, WLOTA 1118) from 11-20 February 2013. This time he will use the
new
callsign V24A, instead of V25AA. QRV on 160-10 metres, also 60 metres if
there
is a demand for it, using CW, SSB and possibly RTTY. QSL via his home
call,

12/02/2013: Oleg Neruchev, ZS1OIN (UA3HK), will replace Oleg Sakharov as
new
Chief of Bellingshausen Base (WAP RUS-01, AA U-04, WFF RFF-154), on King
George
Island (WLOTA 0312), South Shetland Islands (AN-010), and will be QRV on
all
bands, mostly CW, after 12 February 2013 as RI1ANU instead of the normally
used
RI1ANF callsign. He plans to stay at the base until 31 March. QSL via
ZS1OIN.

13/02/2013: A group of operators will activate PJ2T, the Caribbean
Contesting
Consortium's (CCC) Signal Point Station on the island of Curacao (SA-099,
WLOTA
0942) between 13-20 February 2013. Activity will be on all bands and modes,
but
their main operations will be during the ARRL DX CW Contest (16-17
February) as
a Multi-Op entry. QSL PJ2T via LoTW or W3HNK. Look for operators to
possibly be
active before and after the contest using their own PJ2/homecall callsigns.

Montserrat

air from Bujumbura, Burundi, as 9U4U from 14-23 February 2013. The QTH will

14/02/2013: Look for George, KQ8Z, to be active between (approx) 14
February
and 5 March 2013 from near High Rock, on Grand Bahama Island (NA-080,

0527, WW Loc. FL06UO). His main focus will be a Single-Op/Single-Band
(20m)/Low-Power entry in both the ARRL DX CW Contest (16-17 February) and
the
ARRL DX SSB Contest (2-3 March). George will be active on other bands for a
few

14/02/2013: Dave, G3TBK, is returning to Kingstown, island of St.
Vincent
(NA-109, WLOTA 0492, WW Loc. FK93JD) and will be active as J88DR between

will also participate in the ARRL DX CW Contest (16-17 February) and the
ARRL DX

15/02/2013: Joe, K5KUA, will once again operate portable from Galveston
Island

15/02/2013: John, W2GD, has planned a last minute trip and will be active

23/02/2013: A team consisting of FR1JB, FR1GZ, FR4NP, FR4DJ, FR4OA,
FR4OM,
FR4OO, FR4OS, FR4OU, FR4OV, FR4PE, FR4PF, FR4PG, FR5CU, FR5FC and FR5HV
plan to
be active from the UNESCO world heritage site of Piton de la Fournaise
[Peak of
the Furnace] volcano on the following dates: 23-24 February, 11-12 May and
3-4
August 2013. The callsign TO1PF will be used on each occasion. The volcano
is a
shield volcano on the eastern side of Reunion island (AF-016, DIFO FR-001,
WWFF
FFF-011, WLOTA 1812), with an elevation of elevation 2,632m. It is
currently one
of the most active volcanoes in the world. QRV on all HF bands and modes.

25/02/2013: Ken, K4ZW, is returning to Juba, South Sudan, and will be QRV
as
Z81Z when work permits between 25 February and 6 March 2013. Look for him

30/03/2013: Adrian, MW1LCR, will be using the special callsign GW100C from
his

March 2013 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the RSGB. He will
also
participate in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest as a Single-Op/All-Band entry

birth of Samuel F.B. Morse by operating three CW stations on April

watts; the 20 and 17 metre stations will operate at QRP+ (10 to 15

Halley VI - New Antarctic Station
The British Antarctic Survey’s new research station, Halley VI, becomes
fully
operational this month. As yet, no word on future ham radio activities,
even
though the array of log periodics looks very enticing!
