11/01/2014: Pedro, ON7WP, will be active from The Gambia as C5WP between 11-22
January 2014. During the first week (11-15 January), they will be QRV from the
village of Buntu and on the second week (16-22 January) activity will take place
from a beach location, in the Kololi area, where a serious low band effort will
occur. QSL only direct via Moutstraat 7, B-2220 Hallaar, Belgium. Enclose 3$

11/01/2014: From 11 to 31 January 2014 operators Mek SP7VC, Ted SP3IPB and
Kasia SQ7OYL will be sailing in the area of the Caribbean. They are going to
visit many islands and DXCC entities: 11-12 January as FM/SP3IPB, FM/SP7VC and
FM/SQ7OYL from the island of Martinique (NA-107, DIFO FM-001, WLOTA 1041); 15-16
January as J79PB (QSL SP3IPB) and J79VC (QSL SP7VC) from the island of Dominica
(NA-101); 17-18 January as FG/SP3IPB, FG/SP7VC and FG/SQ7OYL from the island of
Guadeloupe (NA-102, DIFO FG-001, WLOTA 0644, WWFF FFF-004); 18-22 January as
VP2MPG and VP2MTK from the island of Montserrat (NA-103, WLOTA 1475); 21 January
only as V26/SP3IPB and V26/SP7VC from Antigua (NA-100, WLOTA 1118); 23-29
January they will return to Dominica Island and be active again as J79PB and
J79VC. A beacon from Dominica (J79VC/B) and Montserrat (VP2MPG/B) will be active

11/01/2014: Budi, YF1AR, plans activity as YF1AR/0 between 11-14 January 2014
from Payung Besar Island [aka Big Umbrella Island] (OC-177) and lighthouse
(ARLHS IDO-236, WLOTA 2776, Admiralty K1058, WW Loc. OI34GE). QRV mainly
nitetime 40m band and spare daytime 20m band, using FT-450D with tuner FC-707,
power 100W. Antenna will be a Vertical (43ft) put on top of the lighthouse (40m
asl). Modes: mainly on Phone as well as on CW and Digital modes. Online

11/01/2014: Pete, K8PGJ, will be active as ZF2PG from Grand Cayman Island
(NA-016, WLOTA 1042) during the week of 11-19th January 2014. QRV, when not
diving, will occur on 20 thru 10 metre SSB during the morning and afternoons on
weekdays, and he hopes one night on 160 thru 40 metres. He also plans to be
active in the North American CW QSO Party (11-12 January) as a

12/01/2014: Tatsuo, JA3ARJ and Kunio, JA1CJA hope to be active as TO3JA from
Ducos, island of Martinique (NA-107, DIFO FM-001, WLOTA 1041) between 12-19th
January 2014. It's possible they may sign FM/homecall/P instead (if applied call

15/01/2014: Toshi, JA8BMK, will be active as XW8BM from Vientiane, Laos,
between 15-30th January 2014. Plans are to be QRV holiday style on 160-10 metre,
all mode, using a hexbeam, verticals and inverted V. Note: start and end dates

16/01/2014: Craig, MM0SSG, is returning to Luanda, Angola, on 16th January 2014
and will be active, when work permits, until December 2014. QRV on 80-10m SSB,

17/01/2014: Jeff, K8ND, will once again be active from the Signal Point contest
station, island of Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA 0942) as PJ2/K8ND between 17-29th
January 2014. This will include a Single-Op entry in the CQWW 160-Meter CW
Contest (24-26 January), using the callsign PJ2T. QSL via home call and LoTW.

18/01/2014: The Team DX group Orobal, inc. Andres Santana EA8AMY, Jose Alfredo
EA8CZM, Sixto EA8CDW, Andres Perez EA8AAW and Antonio EA8ED will be active on
the 18th of January 2014 and participate in WCA-HBD (WCA Happy Birth Day) from
the Castillo de San Francisco (WCA EA-01917, DCE GC-015). They plan to work as
EA8ED/p on 40, 20 and 15 metre SSB. QSL via EA8ED, bureau or direct. [RN1CW]

18/01/2014: Jim, N4BFR and Newton, N4EWT will once again be active as ZF2JS and
ZF2KO, respectively, from Savannah, Grand Cayman Island (NA-016, WLOTA 1042, WW
Loc. EK99HI), between 18-23 January 2014. QRV holiday style on 80-10 metre CW,

23/01/2014: Leo, PP1CZ, will once again be active as PY0F/PP1CZ from Fernando
de Noronha (SA-003, DIB 0C-01, WLOTA 1208, WWFF PYFF-016) between 23-29 January
2014. He will pay special attention on CQWW 160 Meter CW Contest (24-26
January), but outside the contest Leo will try 160 thru 10 metre CW, RTTY and

24/01/2014: Look for Tino, VK3EGN, to be active from Bell Park, VIC, Australia
(OC-001, WLOTA 1520) in the CQWW 160 Meter DX CW Contest (24-26 January). Tino
plans a Single-Op/High-Power entry from CQ zone 30, and will use a Kite lifted 3
el vertical yagi 120m (400ft) high. QSL direct or bureau. [NG3K]

26/01/2014: Wim, ON6DX, will be active as TY1TT from Grand Popo (WW Loc.
JJ06UF), Benin, between 26th January and 5th February 2014. QRV on 40-10m using
IC-7000; 1/4 veticals with many ground radials for 30 and 40m; 6 band SP7IDX
Broadband hexbeam (G3TXQ design). QSL via ON6DX. Further information and updates

31/01/2014: Bjorn, OX5T, will be active from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (NA-018,
WLOTA 0072, WWFF OZFF-006) from 31 January to 2 February 2014. QRV from 160-10

08/02/2014: Francoise, F4BMR and Yves, F5GN will be active as TO4YL from Ducos,
island of Martinique (NA-107, DIFO FM-001, WLOTA 1041) between 8-22 February

15/02/2014: Yuriy, N2TTA, will once again sign NP2P during the ARRL DX CW
Contest (15-16 Frebruary) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry from Christiansted,
island of St. Croix (NA-106, USi VI002S, WLOTA 2477), CQ zone 8. QSL via LoTW is

18/02/2014: Yoshi, JE2EHP, will be active from Noumea, New Caledonia [Grand
Terre Island] (OC-032, DIFO FK-001, WLOTA 1280, Grid Loc. RG37), as FK/K1HP
between 18-26 February 2014. QRV on all HF bands and 6m, using CW, SSB and RTTY.
Both bureau and direct QSLs are accepted via JE2EHP. LoTW and OQRS are also

01/03/2014: Operators Jon K7CO, Christian K7CXN and another team member plan
activity as VK9X/K7CO from Christmas Island (OC-002, WWFF VKFF-098) between 1-11
March 2014. Activity will be on 80-10 metre SSB, CW and PSK-31. QSL via K7CO,
direct only (Jon Utley, 9293 S. Hartford Park Ave 308, West Jordan, Utah 84081,

25/03/2014: Members of the Black Country DX & Contest Group will be QRV as
MS0OXE from the Isle of Tiree (IOSA NH04, SCOTIA DI10, WLOTA 2232, WAB NM04),
Inner Hebrides (EU-008), from 25th March to 31st March 2014. QRV on 160-10 metre
CW, SSB and RTTY, including an entry in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (29-30 March).
Logs will be uploaded to ClubLog once a day and LoTW on their return home. QSL

29/03/2014: Operators Hairie 9M2GET, Han 9W2SBD, Mohamad 9W2SBL, Azlan 9M2AGC,
Syed 9M8SYA, Zam 9M2KRZ, Rizal 9M2RDX and Rut 9W2RUT will activate 9M2SM (North
of Peninsular Malaysia ARA) in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (29-30 March). Plans are
for a Multi-One entry from Arau, Perlis, Malaysia (CQ zone 28). QSL via 9M2GET,

07/04/2014: Manuel, ZP9MCE, will be active from Punta Cana Beach, Dominican
Republic (NA-096, WLOTA 2974) on a holiday style Dxepdition from 7-14 April
2014. This will be a QRP activity on 40/30/20 metre CW only. QSL goes via EA5ZD.

29/04/2014: Look for Nob, JR3STX (also W3ST), to be active once again as T88ST
from the Palau Rental Shack, West Plaza by the Sea Hotel, Malakal Island, State
of Koror, Republic of Palau (OC-009, WW Loc. PJ77FH). Nob will be QRV between
29th April and 7th May 2014 on 80-6 metre CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL for T88ST goes

Local amateurs of Hamburg-Bergedorf (DOK E18) are celebrating their
club's 40th anniversary with the special DOK 40E18 with the call
DF0DC. QSL via bureau. [DXNL]

DJ60DXMB (special DOK 60DXMB) is going to celebrate our own DXNL's
60th anniversary. The first issue of the DXMB (the German language
version) was published on April 15 1954.
An award with the following rules will be available to mark the
Applicants have to accumulate 60 points during 2014. One contact
with DJ60DXMB is compulsory and counts 20 points. One contact with
either DK0DX or DA0HQ is also compulsory, counting 10 points. A
further ten contacts with German stations count 1 point each.
Finally, to complete 60 points, 20 contacts with stations outside
Germany will be necessary, also counting 1 point each.

Contacts may take place on any band and any mode permitted to the
applicant in the terms of his operating license. Endorsements for a
single band or mode will be available. Applications and
verifications will take place only through DARC's DCL system. The
award will be available only as a downloadable PDF document for a
fee of 3 Euro. DL4BBH is the award manager; applying will be
possible from the end of January 2014 onwards.

DR175LDE celebrates the opening of the railway between Leipzig and
Dresden (120km) in 1839. The inaugural journey was made by the
English engine Comet, closely followed by the german Saxonia of
which a working replica was built in 1989. DR175LDE, DK0EFA and
DL0EFD have been assigned the special DOK 175LDE for April 2014.

Last, but not least, the radio club in Kassel looks back on 90
years of history in 2014 with the special event station DP90RKS,
their club calls DL0EAM and DL0SGK, all of which will be handing

EI14LCC, run by the Limerick Radio Club, will call attention on the
air to Limerick being Ireland's City of Culture in 2014. QSL direct

The special event station TM400M, operated by members of the club
F5KSE in Toulouse, is calling attention to the new Airbus A400M

7S400K draws attention to the 400th anniversary of the city
Kristianstad. QRV throughout the whole year on all bands and modes.

Umeaa in Sweden is one the two European Capitals of Culture in
2014. Local amateurs will be active in 2014 with the following
special event calls: SC2014ECC SB2014ECC SC2014ECC SD2014ECC

The Polish Saint, martyr, Franciscan friar, and radio amateur
Maximilian Kolbe (SP3RN) was born 120 years ago. In 1941 he spared
the life of a fellow inmate in the Auschwitz concentration camp
when he took the man's place in an underground bunker and starved
to death. The following calls will honour his memory on the air

Kirovograd Amateur Radio Club announces their jubilee award "75th
Annivesary of the Kirovograd Region" and a corresponding activity

EO90WF honours the memory of Vladimir Goncharsky, U5WF (sk), who

YP1989TM is going to draw attention to the violent events of the
Rumanian revolution during the end of 1989 which began in Timisoara
and led to the overthrow of the country's dictatorship. QRV all
year long, probably together with other special event calls using
the YP25 prefix. A corresponding award will also be available. QSL

10/01/2014: W1AW, Centennial Stations. Look for W1AW/7 operated from K7CO West
Jordan, Utah, and W1AW/4 operated from AA4V Isle of Palms, South Carolina, to be

Using XR2T, an IOTA DXpedition to Damas Island SA-086 is being planned

LU8DCH/D - Martin Garcia Island SA-055
Carlos LU8DCH plans to be active from Martin Garcia Island SA-055 as LU8DCH/D
between February 21-23, 2014. QRV on HF bands. QSL via H/c, direct. [DX World]

VK6FZM will be the call used by the FT5ZM DXpedition team while in Australia and
VK6FZM/MM will be operating aboard the M/V Braveheart on the way to Amsterdam
Island and back.
As the ship was used for research activities and sailed in
subantarctic/antarctic waters she is valid for Antarctic Challenge.

On January, 14th will be five years sharp since the date of World Castles Award
Program foundation.
In connection with this event on January, 18th and 19th, will take place
activity radiohams from castles and fortresses of the world - WCA Happy Birth
Day (WCA HBD).
At present we have support from radiohams of some countries who will be active
from castles and fortresses in their own countries during these days. [RN1CW]

Regardless of originality or novelty, Yasme supports these programs in order to
further the development of amateur radio around the world.
