4W     - Jon K7CO, Ed VE4EAR and maybe others  will  be  active  as  4W/K7CO
         from Timor Leste (OC-148) on 19-31 October. They will operate  SSB,
         CW and RTTY on 80-10  metres.  Logsearch  and  OQRS  on  Club  Log.

     -  Sigi,  DL7DF  (www.dl7df.com/6w/index.html)  will  be  active  as
         DL7DF/6W from Somone, Senegal on 1-13  November.  He  will  operate
         CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31  and  SSTV  on  160-10  metres  "as  often  as
         possible". QSL via home call.
CE0Z   - Felipe, CE5WQO will be active holiday  style  as  CE0Z/CE5WQO  from
         Juan Fernandez (SA-005) on 19-27 November.  QSL via KA3LKM  (direct
         only).
CN     - CN2RY (QSL via EA2RY),  CN2XX  (QSL  via  EA5XX),  CN2JR  (QSL  via
         EA7AJR) and CN2C (QSL via EA5RM) will  operate  SSB,  CW  and  RTTY
         from  Rabat,  Morocco    on    22-27    October.    Logsearch    on

EI     - Olivier, ON4EI  will  be  active  again  as  EI8GQB  from  Fethard,
         Ireland (EU-115) on 18-30 October using an hybrid wind-solar  power
         system from his caravan. He will participate in the CQ  WW  DX  SSB
         Contest as EI1A. QSL for  both  callsigns  via  PA3249,  direct  or
         bureau, and LoTW. Follow his activity and  antenna  experimentation

F      - The Association des Radio Amateurs de la Cote  d'Emeraude  will  be
         active as TM0RHUM from 24 October to 7 November for the 10th  Route
         du Rhum,  the  3000-mile  single-handed  transatlantic  yacht  race
         between St-Malo (France) and Pointe-a-Pitre (Guadeloupe).  QSL  via
         F4AVX.
HL     - Members of the Korea Contest Club will  be  active  as  D70LW  from
         Cheju Island (AS-026) for the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via  DS4NYE

I      - Miran, S50O will  be  active  as  IG9/S50O  from  Lampedusa  Island
         (AF-019) until the end of November. QSL via home  call,  direct  or
         bureau (OQRS on Club Log), and eventually LoTW. He will be  one  of
         the IO9Y team members for the CQ WW DX contests. [TNX S50U]
I      - The Lampedusa Contest Team (http://ig9y.com/) will enter the CQ  WW
         DX SSB and CW Contests with two multi-national large teams  in  the
         M/M category. The location on  the  island  of  Lampedusa  (AF-019)
         will be the same as in 2013, but this year they will use  IO9Y  for
         both the events. QSL via S57DX.
JA     - Taka, JA8COE will be active as JA8COE/5 from Shodo Island  (AS-200)
         on 16-19 October. QSL via home call,  direct  or  bureau  (OQRS  on

KH8    - Masa, JH3PRR will be  active  as  KH8B  from  Pago  Pago  (OC-045),
         American Samoa on 21-27 October. He will be QRV on  160-10  metres,
         and will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via LoTW  and
         the OQRS on Club Log. [TNX NG3K]
OH0    - Pekka, OH2TA and Martti, OH2BH will be active  as  OH0AM  from  the
         Aland Islands on 10-12 October, as part  of  the  celebrations  for
         the OH-DX-Ring's Golden Jubilee [425DXN 1220]. QSL via OH2BH.
PJ7    - PJ7PK (http://pj7pk.net/) was able to log 2300  QSOs  from  Pelikan
         Key (NA-247) in 18 hours  between  7  and  8  October.  Only  three
         (3Z9DX, EI9FBB and EI5GM) of the five team  members  were  able  to
         land on the island. Depending on sea and weather conditions,  3Z9DX
         and J69DS will make another attempt at landing on the 10th "for  an

PY     - Rony, PS7AB will be active as PS43GPB on 7-9 November for the  43rd
         Brazilian Formula 1  Grand  Prix  to  be  run  at  Interlagos  (Sao
         Paulo). QSL via home call, LoTW and eQSL.
TA     - Rich, M5RIC (www.m5ric.co.uk) will be active as TC7V from  Trabzon,
         Turkey on 22-28 October, including an entry in the  CQ  WW  DX  SSB
         Contest. He will be QRV on 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and  10  metres  SSB
         and possibly RTTY. QSL via M0OXO (OQRS preferred) and logsearch  on
         Club Log.
VP5    - Look for VP5/WA2VYA (mainly CW on the low bands, as well as on  30,
         17, 12, 10 and 6 metres), VP5/K4QE and VP5/WA3RHW (both mainly  SSB
         on 17 and 12 metres)  to  be  active  from  Providenciales,  Caicos
         Islands (NA-002) on 21-28 October. QSL  VP5/WA2VYA  and  VP5/WA3RHW
         via home calls (direct or bureau),  QSL  VP5/K4QE  via  LoTW.  They
         will participate in the CQ WW DX  SSB  Contest  as  VP5T  (QSL  via
         WA3RHW, direct or bureau, and LoTW). [TNX NG3K]
VQ9    - Bob, N7XR now expects to be  active  as  VQ9XR  from  Diego  Garcia
         (AF-006), Chagos Archipelago starting "on or about 25 October".  He
         will operate CW, RTTY and SSB on the HF bands. His  original  plans
         were for a 3-week stay on the island. He  may  also  use  the  call
         VQ92X or  VQ92XR  "to  provide  prefix  hunters  a  new  one".  See

XX9    - Eugene EA5HPX, Fran EA7FTR, Veronica  EA7JQS,  Jose  EB5BBM,  David
         EB7DX and Oleg US7UX will be active as XX9R from Coloane  (AS-075),
         Macao from 22 October to 1 November. They  will  be  QRV  on  160-6
         metres CW, SSB and RTTY with 2-3 stations, and will participate  in
         the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via EB7DX, direct or bureau (an  OQRS

ZA     - Look for Franck,  ZA/F4DTO  and  Patrick,  ZA/F4GFE  to  be  active
         holiday style from Albania on 18-27 October. They will operate  SSB

PACIFIC TRIP ---> Naoki, JS3LSQ will be active as T88WJ from Palau on  24-28
October, and as V63WJ from Micronesia from 29 October to 4 November. He will
will operate SSB on 20-10 metres. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

W1AW WAS ---> Look for ARRL Centennial stations W1AW/4 from Alabama,  W1AW/8
from Michigan and W1AW/KH0 from the Northern Mariana Islands to  be  on  the
air starting at 00.00 UTC on  15  October  until  23.59  UTC  on  the  21st.

WRTC 2018 ---> On  5  October  the  World  Radio  Team  Championship  (WRTC)
Sanctioning Committee selected Germany as the host nation for WRTC 2018.  It
will be a joint effort by the  Deutscher  Amateur  Radio  Club  (DARC),  the
Bavarian Contest Club (BCC) and  the  Rhein  Ruhr  DX  Association  (RRDXA).
Christian Janssen, DL1MGB is the President of the Organizing  Committee  for

ZD9TT ---> The ZD9TT DXpedition to Tristan da Cunha, originally planned  for
September  2014  and  then  postponed  to   September    2015    because  of
transportation problems, has been cancelled.  The  Italian  DXpedition  team
"will no more advertise its plans in advance", they  say,  "We  regret  that
this decision might affect the plans of other Teams, we  feel  compelled  to
adopt this policy due to the course of events". [TNX IK7JWY]

+ SILENT KEY + Les Mitchell (G3BHK), the founding  father  of  JOTA,  passed
away on 6 October. He launched the idea of a Jamboree On The  Air  in  1957,
and the first JOTA event took place one year later. Over the years JOTA  has
become the  largest  international  Scout  event  ever,  with  thousands  of
participants from all over the world. The 57th JOTA will be  held  on  18-19
October.
