03/10/2014: Ben, DO1BEN and Barbara DO1IQ plan to activate Texel Island (EU-038, WLOTA 0043) as PD/homecall from 3-12 October 2014. Their QTH on Texel Island will be the village of De Cocksdorp (QRA JO23KD). Texel is located in the northern part of The Netherlands in the Wadden Sea, province of North Holland. TRX is Yaesu FT2000. We use self made vertical antennas for 10 and 20 meters. For 40 meters we will set up a inverted V (wide space) dipole. Activities are on digimodes (RTTY and PSK31), and also in SSB mode. 03/10/2014: Members of The Quake Contesters will be active as YJ0X from Villa Chelle (WW Loc. RH24CH), located on Mele Bay, Efate island [aka Ile Vate], New Hebrides (OC-035), between 3-15 October, 2014. Efate island is part of the Shefa Province in The Republic of Vanuatu. They will have 2 stations (K3s + amplifiers) plus a reserve (K2) on CW, RTTY and SSB. Antennas include 6 element 6m yagi and verticals for 30/40/80m on the edge of the ocean. Team members include Geoff ZL3GA, Phil ZL3PAH (Team leader), Paul ZL4PW, and Gordon G3USR. Activity will also include the Oceania DX Contest - SSB (4-5th October) and CW (11-12th October). 06/10/2014: A team of five operators consisting Dom 3Z9DX, Jeremy EI5GM, Dave EI9FBB, Frans J69DS and Col MM0NDX will soon be on their way to Sint Maarten with the primary aim of activating Guana Key of Pelikan (NA-247 NEW ONE!). Approximate dates of activity are scheduled from 6-10th October, but as with most island activations everything is dependent on calm seas and good WX. 06/10/2014: Joel, N5JR and Jim, NT5V will be active from the island of Aruba (SA-036, WLOTA 0033) as P40JR and P40JW, respectively, between 7-14th October, 2014. They will operate SSB, CW and RTTY on 160-6m with an emphasis on the WARC bands and 80, 160m. QSL home calls or LoTW. [DX-World]

08/10/2014: From a water's edge location on the north shores of Timor Leste (OC-148, WLOTA 0019) 4W/G3ZEM will be QRV between 8-20th October 2014. Activity will be all bands 160-10m primarily CW. There will be focus towards LF if conditions are favourable. Equipment will be K3, KPA500 with HF9V for HF and an 18m Spider pole supported vertical on 160/80m. QSL via M0URX with OQRS preferred. 08/10/2014: Using XR2T, an IOTA DXpedition to Damas Island (SA-086, DICE ICE-201, WLOTA 0029, WW Loc. FG40FS) is being planned for 8-12th October 2014 time-frame. The main focus of the DXpedition will be to work the greatest possible number of unique calls, thus offering a possibility also to Little Pistols and QRP stations. Team members include Domingo CE1DY, Jose Luis CE1KR, Marco CE1TBN, Pablo CE1UMY, Dercel CE3KHZ, Julio CE3OP, Juan CE3RBJ, Chris CE3TAM, Sergio CE3WDH, Rodrigo CE4KCA, Juan CE5PHI, Claudio XQ1FM, Nick XQ1KZ, Alfredo XQ3WD and Dan XQ4CW. 08/10/2014: Marcin, SP5ES and Jacek, SP5EAQ plan to be active as ZK3E and ZK3Q, respectively, from Nukunonu Village, Nukunonu Atoll, Tokelau islands (OC-048, WWFF ZLFF-020), New Zealand, starting 8th October 2014, for a period of three weeks. 10/10/2014: Kay JH3AZC (V63AZ), Hiro JR3GWZ (V63GW) and Takio JH3QFL (V60O) will be active from Pohnpei Island (OC-010, Grid Loc. 04/10/2014: Special event station TM2F operates from Chamery, France, on the HF bands on the 4th and 5th October, 2014. The QTH is near that place Quentin Roosevelt, the youngest son of the then US president, crashed his warbird on 14 July 1918. QSL via F4GTT, Bureau or direct. [DX Newsletter]

A73A in CQWW SSB 2014* Once again, a joint team with members from *Danish Contest Academy* and *Qatar Amateur Radio Society* will be active from Al Khor in northern Qatar in the M/2 Category in CQWW SSB as *A73A*. Operators OZ1ADL, A71GO, A71AE, OZ7AM, A71BA, A71BR, OZ1IKY, LY4L, VU2BZY, A7/WT2NY, A41MA and more members of QARS will be active from the compound and at the same time use the opportunity to display Radio Sport to visitors. The team will be setting up the station in the week prior to the Contest and will be active with the regular club call sign A71A, with particular emphasis on the low bands. QSL via A71A. I'm not sure how many of you met up with Bob and Janet during their ZL visit over the last two months, but I have just had a "farewell" telephone call from Bob as they are flying home from Auckland tomorrow.
