October 9, 2014
A good week, so much
so that entry into the
list was up to 5 during the week and 7 at the weekend.
W1AW, along with ZD9XF (Tristan da Cunha and Gough Island), T30D (Kiribati) and 7Q7VW along with many others made a lot of the running over the week.
I did not have time to work anyone, no really! What with the grandchildren and the dog and jobs to do.
My apologies to Fernando, PY2NL whose call I gave wrong last week. He has been really prolific on 10m. Wednesday he worked PY8RJ and heard LU5FYD, EA1CYK, LU6DNH, OA6Q, LU6FL, IK6OSZ, PU2RDB, ZD9XF, IK5NFI, UT3QU and IK2RPE along with LU3DCS (Beacon) 5/8 28290.32. Thursday he heard LU2ECC 5/7, LU2DGK 5/9, CD3HSC 5/8, PP2BK 5/5, KE5ZDN 5/5, along with LU2ERC (Beacon) 5/9. Grid locator for the beacon is GF15AD, frequency 28.193 MHz. Friday he worked LU1XU 5/9+, CT1EHI 5/9, 9H5DX 5/9+ and PY2VM 5/9. Saturday he worked LU8YE 5/9, LU7XX 5/9, IZ8EYP 5/9, LU3DW 5/9, ZP5DYA 5/9, ZP6AKY 5/9, CD3GID 5/9, LU8FF 5/9, LU5VAT 5/9, LU1HZY 5/9 and KH6NX 5/9 and he heard stations from North America, Russia, South America, South Africa and more! He has been busy. Tuesday he worked PA6O 5/9, LU7YWC 5/9, LU7HOS 5/9 and LU5EFE 5/9. He heard F5LM 5/7, OA6Q 5/9, EA7AT 5/9, OK2EN 5/9, EA2QU 5/9, EA5HAP 5/9, GM0GMN 5/5, M0HMC 5/7, PD1RON 5/9, MM6KAJ 5/9, DL7GAL 5/9, IW2MYG 5/7, DJ5VB 5/9, CT2HTZ 5/9, LU7EAM 5.
Saturday Steve, M0STC worked KW5JC(OK) 5/9, W0TDH(SC) 5/8 on A.M. and K1KW(MA) 5/9+30 on Sunday. “I see in your last report that Steven 2E0NHR has heard or worked US AM stations on 29 MHz at some time. I also worked a couple back in March, and here they are back again. These often seem to use vintage AM equipment, and the audio quality is very nice. I have recently got quite interested in the possibility of restoring vintage equipment at some time, although any such project will probably have to wait until I am retired !”
No! Believe me, being retired doesn’t seem to give you a lot more time for radio some how.
Joe, G3ZDF , sent in a link to the Royal Naval Amateur Radio Society’s activity on 10m. Thanks for that Joe and here is the link RNARS 10m.
2E0NHR, Steven is back again with more Ancient Modulation contacts. A92HK 5/9 SSB, R7KI 5/7 29.025 A.M. on Friday and gently reminding me that A.M. and F.M are still alive on 10m. Saturday he worked CT8/DH2IW 5/9 but on SSB. Sunday, “TR8CA 5/7 FM, another new country Gabon (couldn’t get him on SSB he went to FM and I got him there!” Monday, worked PJ4DX 5/9, SV5/G0TSM 5/9, K3ZO 5/9 and SV1PMR 5/9. PJ4DX is Steve Telenius Lowe of RSGB fame. Wednesday worked RT1Q 5/9, R5RM 5/9, W1AW/4 5/9, FM1HN 5/9 and RA3RMG.
