QJ96), Senyavin Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, on 10-14th October, 2014. They will operate SSB, CW and RTTY on 80-6 metres; JH3AZC will also be QRV on 2m EME as V60EME. QSL via home calls. 10/10/2014:  A group of operators from Red Stick DX Association will be active as W5GIX from Grand Isle (NA-168, USi LA-003S), Jefferson county, Louisiana, on 10-12th October, 2014. They will operate CW and SSB, and possibly some digital. QSL direct to W5GIX. [425 DX News]

10/10/2014:  Look for Mathias, DJ2HD, to be active from Lord Howe Island (OC-004, WWFF VKFF-295) as VK9DJ on 10-12th October. "Operation before starting the BIG Lord Howe DXpedition. SSB, RTTY and CW." QSL via DJ2HD, direct or Bureau. [NG3K]

11/10/2014:  Joachim, DK5VP and Frank, DL8LR will be active holiday style as CE0Y/homcall between 11-18th October from Hanga Roa (QRA DG52GU), Isla de Pascua - Rapa Nui [Easter Island] (SA-001, DICE ICE-001, WLOTA 0319, WWFF CEFF-027), Chile. They plan activity from 40-6 metres, using FT-857 100W and GPAs 40m, 20m, 15m, 10m and 6m. Hanga Roa is the main town, harbour and capital of the Chilean province of Easter Island. It is located in the southern part of the island's west coast, in the lowlands between the extinct volcanoes of Terevaka and Rano Kau. QSL via home calls, Bureau preferred. 11/10/2014:  Operators of DL0KJ will be active on the 11th of October 2014 fom Schloss Dhaun (WCA DL-00735, COTA-DL RPB-056), also WWFF. They plan to work as DL0KJ/p on 40, 20 and 15 metre SSB. For all QSOs with them a special QSL-card via the DARC-office is 100% shure. [RN1CW]

11/10/2014:  Nobuaki, JH0JHQ (pandasan.jimdo.com/) will be active as JD1BOW from Chichi-jima (AS-031, WLOTA 2269, WWFF JAFF-018), Tokyo prefecture (JCG 10007), Ogasawara, between 11-13th October. Main activity will take place during a domestic contest during the first two days; on 13 October he plans to focus on 12 or 10 metres. QSL via JH0JHQ, direct or Bureau. [425 DX News]

12/10/2014:  Jacek, SP5APW, is going to operate as W4/SP5APW from Marco Island (NA-052, USi FL025S, Collier County), Florida, from 12-15th October, 2014. Only SSB and digi modes on the HF bands. He will also take side trips using the callsign W4/SP5APW/p and will activate Key West (NA-062, USi FL040S, Monroe County) on 9-10th October and Dry Tortugas (NA-079, USi FL013S, Monroe County) on 10th October (1500z-1700z, probably 12m SSB). 12/10/2014:  Dragan YT2KID will be active on the 12th of October 2014 from Stalac Fortress [634 years old] (WCA YU-00022). He plans to work as YT2KID/P on 40 (7.151), 20 (14.251) and 17 (18.130) metres. QSL via home call, Bureau or direct. [RN1CW]

13/10/2014:  Bill, N7OU, will once again be operating as E51NOU from the island of Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cook Islands, between 13th October and 9th November. Activity will be on 160-10 meter, CW only, in his spare time as work allows. QSL via N7OU and LoTW. [OPDX Bulletin]

13/10/2014:  Preparations for the 2014 Lagunaria DX Group 13-29th October 2014 DXpedition to Lord Howe Island (OC-004, WWFF VKFF-295) are ongoing. Michael, DL6MHW has joined the group, which now includes 16 operators. Two callsigns have been issued: for the standard DXpedition operation they will use VK9DLX, while during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest they will use VK9LM (in memory of DJ5CQ, SK since 1995, who was active from Lord Howe Island with this callsign several times in the 1980s and 1990s). Lord Howe can be reached by plane, but the transport capacities on the flight are stricly limited to 14kg per person. Most of the equipment will have to be shipped from Germany to the island by sea freight, and donations to help offset those costs are gratefully accepted. 15/10/2014:  Take, JG8NQJ, will be back to the weather station on Minami Torishima (IOTA OC-073) and be active as JG8NQJ/JD1 from mid-October until mid-December, 2014. He operates CW only in his spare time. QSL via JA8CJY (direct) or JG8NQJ (Bureau). [425 DX News]

15/10/2014:  Lundy DX Group members John M5JON, Pete M0ILT, Ant MW0JZE, Charles M0OXO and Rob MW0RLJ will be active as MX0LDG from Mount Todden Farm, on the eastern side of St. Mary's Island, Isles of Scilly (EU-011) between 15-22 October. QRV on all bands using CW, SSB and Digital modes. A QSL card will be available through the Clubs QSL Manager, Tim, M0URX, and all logs will be uploaded to ClubLog and LoTW. 16/10/2014:  Members of the Radio Club Argentino will activate the special prefix/callsign, AY4E, from the Argentine exclave Martin Garcia Island (SA-055, ARLHS AR-045, QRA GF05VT) in Uruguayan waters (part of the La Plata in Buenos Aires Province) between 16-19th October. Operators mentioned are Juan LU1EK, Walter LU1XP, Eduardo LU2HOD, Hector LU3CM, Sergio LU4CBC, Roberto LU4QQ, Julio LU5MT and Walter LU8QBF. Activity will be on 160/80/40/20/17/15/12/10 metres, as well as 6m/2m/70cm, and using CW, SSB, and the Digital modes (RTTY, Amtor and BPSK). QSL via LU4QQ direct or LU4AA by the Bureau. 21/10/2014:  VP5T will be active in the CQWW SSB Contest (25-26 October), and operators Frank WA2VYA, Tony K4QE and Bruce WA3RHW will be QRV outside the contest with VP5/home calls from 21-28 October 2014 from the VP5JM "Hamlet" on Providenciales Island (NA-002, WLOTA 2003). QSL VP5T via WA3RHW, direct (with return postage or IRC), W3 Bureau, (there is NO VP5 Bureau) or LoTW. "Please send us your card via the W3 bureau, if you use LOTW. We like cards." 25/10/2014:  Jussi-Pekka OH6RX and Esa OH7WV plan to activate the Mariana Intrepid Contest Club AH0K during the CQWW-DX SSB Contest (25-26 October) as a Multi-2 entry in the CQWW DX SSB Contest (25-26 October). QRV from Tinian Island (USi NI-003S, WLOTA 3108, WW Loc. QK25ve), Northern Mariana Islands (OC-086, CQ zone 27) a day or two before the contest. Direct QSL to AH0K via OH6GDX. 25/10/2014:  Raffaele, IH9YMC, will be QRV in the CQWW DX SSB Contest (25-26 October) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (?) entry from the island of Pantelleria (AF-018, IIA H001, MIA MI-124, WLOTA 0041), CQ zone 33. QSL via eQSL Only. [NG3K]

25/10/2014:  Waldemar, SM0TQX, will be active from Mariehamn, Aland Islands (EU-002, WLOTA 1373), for the CQWW DX SSB Contest (25-26 October) as OH0JFP. He plans a Single-Op/Single-Band (10m) entry from CQ zone 15. QSL via home call, direct or Bureau. [NG3K]

25/10/2014:  Operators Jack N4RV (PJ2/N4RV), Uli DL8OBQ (PJ2/DL8OBQ), Geoff W0CG (PJ2DX), Carsten DL6LAU (PJ2/DL6LAU), Heiko DK3DM (PJ2/DK3DM) and possibly others will be active as PJ2T during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (25-26 October) from the Signal Point contest station, island of Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA 0942) as a M/? entry. 07/11/2014:  Hidenari, JA0FKK, will be QRV once again as T88XC from the VIP Guest Hotel Free Radio Room, Koror Island, Republic of Palau (OC-009), between 7-16th November. 18/11/2014:  Geoff W0CG (PJ2DX), Gene KB7Q (PJ2/KB7Q), Joerg DF9LJ (PJ2/DF9LJ) and possibly others will be active from the Signal Point contest station, island of Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA 0942) between 18th November and 2nd December, 2014. Main focus will be on the CQWW DX CW Contest (29-30 November) as a Multi/? entry using the callsign PJ2T. 28/11/2014:  Frank, PA4N (FOC #2034, FISTS #3750), will be active as PJ2V from the island of Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA 0942) for the CQWW DX CW Contest (29-30 November) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (15m)/Low-Power entry. 29/11/2014:  Vakhtang, 4L8A, plans a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m) entry in the CQWW DX CW Contest (29-30 November) from Tbilisi, Georgia (CQ zone 21). QSL via K1BV and LoTW. [NG3K]

29/11/2014:  Operators Jussi-Pekka OH6RX, Esa OH7WV and Harry WX8C will activate the Mariana Intrepid Contest Club AH0K, located on Tinian Island (USi NI-003S, WLOTA 3108, WW Loc. 22/01/2015:  Look for Dwight, VE7BV, to be active holiday style as TG9/VE7BV from Antigua, Sacatepequez Department, Guatemala (WW Loc. EK44PN) between 22nd January and 17th February, 2015. SPECIAL EVENTS -

11/10/2014:  On 18th October 2014 will see the 90th anniversary of the first UK to New Zealand radio contact, made on 80 metres between 18-year-old Cecil Goyder (2SZ) at Mill Hill School in London and Frank Bell (4AA) in Shag Valley, on New Zealand's South Island. To celebrate this anniversary, special callsign ZL4AA will be active from 11-18th October from Shag Valley in South Island, New Zealand. At Mill Hill School and Shag Valley, amateurs will recreate the first Goyder/Bell contact, hopefully on a wavelength close to that used in 1924. QSL via QRZ.com. [OPDX Bulletin]

15/10/2014:  From 15-21 October 2014 look for the following stations to be active to celebrate ARRL's centennial year: W1AW/4 will be operated by Rickey K4TD, located in Harvest, Madison County, State of Alabama. W1AW/8 will be operated by Dennis KT8X, located in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, State of Michigan. QSLs preferred via LoTW. [ARRL]

15/10/2014:  Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the independence of Zambia, 9J stations are allowed to use the special prefix 9I50 (Nine India Fife Zero) through the month of October. Look for Brian, 9J2BO, to be active from Lusaka, Zambia as 9I50BO between 15-31 October, 2014. QRV on all HF bands. QSL goes via G3TEV. [DX-World]

16/10/2014:  Special event station OO4CLM will be active between 16 October and 15 November. The suffix stands for Canadian Liberation March, the annual event that celebrates the liberation of the Belgian town of Knokke on 1 November 1944. QSL via ON3AIM, direct or bureau. 50th ANNIVERSARY PARTY OF OH-DX-RING --- OF2AM / OH0AM / OJ0AM --- SET TO REACH ALAND ISLANDS THIS FRIDAY, 10TH OF OCTOBER
 Pekka, OH2TA and Martti, OH2BH will activate the original OH0AM this weekend in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the prominent Contest Club of Finland which ruled the airwaves in those other ancient years. OH0AM and OF2AM may also energize the bands a few more times during the jubilee year 2014.
 OH0AM was first aired in 1965 and the club has been active ever since - often heard sporting slick callsigns such as OG0A, OH0B, OH0R and OH0X from Brando, the easternmost of Aland Islands. Meanwhile, OJ0B and OJ0AM have kept Market Reef on the air since the reef gained its DXCC status.
 You are most welcome to join and salute the party.

WRTC 2018 will be in Germany -
WRTC Sanctioning Committee is very pleased to announce that the organization of World Radiosport Team Championship 2018 was granted to a German group consist of representatives of DARC, BCC and RRDXA.

German application was very well prepared and knowing their experiences we all expect another outstanding meeting and competition among world's best contesters.
