Good evening!
I upgraded to my General class (USA) in June and I’m really itching to get on HF. I’m definitely interested in digital modes, and not so concerned about having all the bands available to me.
I’d rather start with a cheap, QRP, single-band, all mode radio, but those aren’t easy to find! For those of you who are “Life’s too short for QRP”, yeah, I agree somewhat – but I’m in an apartment complex, and I’d rather not deal with RFI issues with neighbors right away. I’ll build an amp when I get a chance.
So anyway, I came across this: http://ift.tt/2fVp5Ja
Does anyone have any information on that thing? Looks promising. Then the only question is, what band should I get for that. I’ve done some measurements, and I can accommodate any band up to 40m with either an indoor dipole, or my neighbor will let me put up a G5RV between our balconies. (Complex is OK with a single wire, whatever, it’s something and not worth the fight).
Thanks for answering my questions!
