ELKO — Local Boy Scouts took to the park for a day to learn about radio technology during Jamboree-on-The-Air. JOTA is an annual event in early October where Boy Scouts work with ham radio technology to communicate with other Boy Scouts. The World Scout Bureau reported that nearly 1 million Scouts and almost 20,000 amateur radio operators participated in the 2015 JOTA, from more than 17,776 stations in 151 countries.
