1940's Family Experience Weekend
The Radio Society of Harrow will be running GX3EFX at the 1940's Family Experience Weekend this Sat/Sun April 13/14.
The current Bushey Hall, dating from 1865, was requisitioned in 1942 for RAF Fighter Command (it is not far from Bentley Priory).
Shortly afterwards it became the HQ of VIII Air Force, Fighter Command, under control of the US Air Force (aka USAAF station 341).
Nowadays this educational and tourist attraction houses the 1940's House including the History of Bushey Hall, a Militaria Collection, the Dig for Victory Garden, Evacuee's Schoolroom in the Village Hall and NAAFI Café Refreshments.
The Radio Society of Harrow will be running the cub call GX3EFX and will be displaying equipment from the 1940's.
The location for the weekend April 13/14 is Lincolnsfield Centre, Bushey Hall Drive, WD23 2ES. Easy parking on site.
