South Sudan, on a mission to establish the amateur radio infrastructure in

country. During their spare time they will also put newly licensed Z81X on
the

(ERASD) plans activity from Jazirat Disuqi [aka Nelson's Island] and
lighthouse

change. Belonging to the Nile Delta and Sinai Region Group, this IOTA has
never
been activated. The island is approximately 20 km east of the Egyptian port

15/05/2013: Vlado, UA0LCZ, will be active as UA0LCZ/0 from the
Kamchatka
Peninsula, Kamchatka Krai, Russian Federation Far East, from 15-21 May
2013. The
Kamchatka peninsula contains the volcanoes of Kamchatka, a UNESCO World
Heritage
Site. The site comprises six distinct locations on the Kamchatka Peninsula,
in
the central mountainous spine of the peninsula (Bystrinskiy Nature Park
[WWFF
RFF-185]), and coastal locations facing east towards the Bering Sea
(Kronotsky
Zapovednik (Nature Reserve) [WWFF RFF-052], Nalychevo Nature Park [WWFF
RFF-187]
and the contiguous Southern Kamchatka Nature Park [WWFF RFF-186] and
Southern

01/06/2013: Museum Ships Weekend Event 2013 - For the second time
consecutively
the Radioaficionados of the Vega Baja (ARVB) and the local section of
URE
Orihuela will return to activate the S-61 Submarine Delfin, located in the
port
of Torrevieja (Alicante), with the call sign EG5SUB. They will start
on
Saturday, 1st of June at 9 am GMT through Sunday, 2nd in the evening
using
several modalities of transmission, digital SSB and CW, in the HF bands.

29/04/2013: Special event station 8J6DON will be active on all bands and

between 29 April and 5 May 2013 to celebrate the Hakata "Dontaku" Port
Festival
(Dontaku: a Dutch word Zontag, meaning a holiday). Japan's Golden Week
begins at
the end of April. Hakata Dontaku Minato Matsuri (Port Festival) held on May
3
and 4 in Fukuoka-city, Fukuoka prefecture is one of the most popular
festivals
take place during the Golden Week period in Japan. It's a lively festival
where
people parade on the street in costumes, beating shamoji rice spatulas
and
present various performances on stages. Fukuoka is located in northern
Kyushu
region, island of Kyushu (AS-077, WLOTA 0963). It is truly a citizens'
festival.

CW Operators' Club) is holding a month-long on-air event featuring more
than 20
special "FOC" suffix calls. These will include GB75FOC, a special
anniversary
callsign for their club station. (GP4FOC will be used when operating
from
Guernsey, GS4FOC from Scotland and GT4FOC from Isle of Man). There will be
many
other FOC callsigns from the USA and VE and from more exotic locations such
as
VQ9, HZ1 and 5T. Stations will gain points for contacting any FOC member
and a
beautiful certificate will be presented to stations who reach certain
point

NCDXF DX University and Contest University Scholarships
NCDXF is committed to bringing younger DXers and Contesters into our
hobby.
NCDXF will provide full tuition scholarships for hams 25 years of age
and
younger at all DX University and Contest University sessions held in
North
America for the next year. This includes those held at the Dayton
Hamvention
next month.
Funding for this project comes from NCDXF’s Scholarship Endowment Fund,
which is
separate from its General Fund used to support DXpeditions.
Credit for the success of NCDXF is made possible by our contributors,

Douglas, ND9Q, remains active from Panjwayi, Kandahar, Islamic Republic
of
Afghanistan (WW Loc. MM21RM), as T6DA from 11 April till August 2013.
Currently
operating FT-857D with maximum of 20W through end-fed dipole for 40/20/10m.
Will
be changing antennas soon to allow 100W operation on all bands, and will
also be
adding PSK31 and other digital modes when the equipment arrives in country.
