Stop polio now - Rotarians on air
To celebrate the birthday of Rotary International, and highlight its involvement in eradicating the disease polio, it will hold a special event on February the 22th and 23rd.
All participating Rotarians on Amateur Radio throughout the world will call '
CQ Polio' to mark the founding of Rotary International in 1905, and educate the public about Rotary's
End Polio Now campaign.
In Australia listen for special event callsigns VI2POLIO, VI3POLIO, VI6POLIO and VI7POLIO. Activity is also due to take place elsewhere in the world on that weekend.
The polio eradication program is a joint effort between Rotary, the World Health Organisation, and the Bill Gates Foundation.
