Sukkertoppen] Island (IOTA NA-220), Greenland, as OX/DB5MH from 25-30 July 2014.
This will be a 280km solo DX-Pedition that will take him from Kangerlussuaq
(also known as Sondre Stromfjord) to Manitsoq (aka Sukkertoppen). Michael will
carry all of his equipment as well as food with him. There will be no chance for
him to resupply during the tour. All electricity for his HAM activity will be
provided by solar panels. Energy and weight constrained, he will be operating
about 1-2 hours per day QRP-QRV using an FT817 and a very simple vertical ground
plane. Michael will primarily be active on 20m at 2000-2400 UTC. Watch cluster.

Port Colborne, Ontario, hosts their annual Marine Heritage Festival to celebrate
the long history of the Welland Canal with the special event station VE3WCD, on
2-3 August 2014. At Port Colbornes Welland Canal Days they will be operating
from near the corner of Sugarloaf and West Streets next to the water tower (WW
Loc. FN02JU) which puts them very close to two Lighthouses which are located at
the entrance to the Welland Canal on Lake Erie. The Lighthouse numbers are as

from Bathurst Island OC-173: Its only a month before the VK5CE/8 Bathurst
Island OC-173 DXpedition takes place and everything is going to plan. Last
weekend I cut and tested new vertical dipoles to use for the DXpedition.
Flights from Adelaide in South Australia to Darwin in the Northern Territory and
then the charter flight from Darwin to Bathurst Island have been paid for. The
costs of hiring the facility on the island have also been paid for. The flight
charter company have approved the weight of equipment needed and the island
operators at Bathurst Island Lodge have confirmed that I will be the only guest
at the lodge so I can set up vertical dipoles at the high tide mark of the beach
