Since the 21st of July, the Stirling & District Amateur Radio Society (GM6NX) have been busy hosting the Special Event Station GA14CG; Golf Alpha One Four Commonwealth Games, to celebrate the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The activation will close on the evening of the 3rd of August and the target is to reach 20,000 QSO's by the end of the activation.
To date, almost 10,000 QSO's have been logged at the mid-way stage of the event.
The callsign is being supported by 3 HF stations and two VHF stations, which can all be run simultaneously. Operation is from 1.8MHz-144MHz using CW, SSB and Data.
To keep up to date with the activation, you can follow us on Twitter (@GA14CG), on Facebook and our website (www.ga14cg.com)
Additionally, if you are in the area visiting the Games, you are welcome to come along to the station and operate! Just fill out the booking form on our website!
We would like to thank everyone who has worked the station so far and we look forward to the next 10,000+ QSO's!
