Single shared receive only antenna

Ok amateurradio,

Here is my conundrum, I have multiple devices, Weather radios and stereo system inside of my home that have brutal and horrible reception. I would like to run a single (metal pole) antenna, such as a car antenna about 3 to 4 feet in length, and run all three or 4 devices off of it. Can this be done, how does that signal reduction work when it is receive and not transmit. Fair warning, I am running on 36 hours with no sleep and may be on a fools errand.
