07/03/2014: Jim, G3VDB, will be active again from the Vilamendhoo Island Resort
(WW Loc. MJ63LP), island of Vilamendhoo, South Ari Atoll (WLOTA 0317), Maldive
Islands (AS-013), with a focus on the BERU Contest (8-9 March). QRV holiday
style as 8Q7EJ on the HF bands using CW and SSB between 3-10 March 2014. Jim
reports - "The radio aims are: to operate in the 24hour BERU contest; to get my
last two US States (DE, ND) for WAS, and give as many as possible a confirmed
8Q7 QSO. All outstanding QSLs and OQRS will be processed after my return". [DX

07/03/2014: Andy, UA3AA, is now active as 9N7AA from Pokhara (WW Loc. NL18XE),
Nepal, until 23 May 2014. Due to RFI issues and S9+ noise level, Andy asks you

07/03/2014: Iain, M0PCB and Steve, M0SPF are currently active from Old Towne,
St. Peters Parish, island of Montserrat (NA-103, WLOTA 1475, WW Loc. FK86VR) as
VP2MXI (CW) and VP2MZR (SSB/RTTY), respectively, until 10th March 2014.
Operation will be holiday style with an entry into the RSGB Commonwealth Contest
(8-9 March). QSL via LoTW, Clublog OQRS, direct via M0PCB or via bureau to home

08/03/2014: David, VK3BY, will be active as T88XT from Malakal Island, State of
Koror, Republic of Palau (OC-009, WW Loc. PJ77FH) between 8-14th March 2014.
David will be there with his XYL, so this will be a holiday style operation.
Activity will be SSB only on 80-6 metres. QSL via his home call, direct (w/3

10/03/2014: Operators Manfred DK1BT, Csaba DH7KU, Tom DJ6TF, Manfred DK1BT,
Georg DK7LX, Wolf DL4WK, Sigi DL7DF, Juergen DL7UFN, Frank DL7UFR, Jan SP3CYY
and Leszek SP3DOI will be active from Gorakana, Moratuwa (Grid Loc. MJ96),
Colombo District, Western Province, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
(AS-003, WLOTA 0762), as 4S7DRG, 4S7FRG and 4S7LXG between 10-23 March 2014.
They plan activity with several stations on 160m to 6m on CW, SSB - one station
will be exclusively dedicated to RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV. The QSL-Route is via
DL7DF either direct (Sigi Presch DL7DF, Wilhelmsmuehlenweg 123, 12621 Berlin,

10/03/2014: Alexander, RX0QM, is a member of the 59th Russian Antarctic
Expedition. Approx 10th March 2014 he will replace current operator Oleg,
RI1ANU, at Bellingshausen Station (AA UA-04, WAP RUS-01, WWFF RFF-154) on King
George Island (WLOTA 0312), South Shetlands Islands (AN-010), and be active on
HF bands as RI59ANT until 26th November 2014. QSL via Op's instruction. Website:

10/03/2014: Todd, KC1SQ, is planning on going "sailboat mobile" out of
Placencia Village, Stann Creek District, Belize, between 10-18th March 2014. He
has obtained the local callsign V31SQ. Operations will be low power (100W) with
an Icom IC-7000 w/AH-4 tuner into a simple wire going up the mast of their 42
foot sailboat. Operation will all be SSB, and he will likely concentrate on

12/03/2014: Jim, W7EJ, will once again activate CN2R from Casablanca, Morocco,
between 12-30th March 2014. QRV on all bands, holiday style, including a
Multi-Single entry in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (29-30 March) from CQ zone 33.

12/03/2014: Andy, DK5ON, will be active from the island of Curacao (SA-099,

13/03/2014: Look for Aki, JR3QFB and Take, JS6RRR to be active from the island
of Aruba (SA-036, WLOTA 0033) as P40JH and P40R, respectively, between 13-18th
March 2014. Plans are to be QRV holiday style on 160-6 metres, all modes. QSL

13/03/2014: Franz, OE2SNL, has planned a suitcase DXpedition to Chatham Island
(OC-038, WLOTA 1627) as ZL7/OE2SNL between 13-26 March, 2014. QRV on 80-10 metre

14/03/2014: Maurizio, IK2GZU, will once again return to the Mission Ilembula.
Tanzania, to do some work at the new hospital and orphanage between 14th March
and 11th April 2014. He plans to be active during his spare time as 5H3MB on the
HF bands. Maurizio will use his FT-100 and the mission's TS-850 into a tri-band
3 element beam (20/15/10m) fixed on Europe and a vertical or dipole for the

14/03/2014: Look for Peter, EI7CC, to be active once again as 7P8PB from Maseru
(WW Loc. KG30RQ), Kingdom of Lesotho beween 14 March and 3 April 2014. Activity
will be holiday style on all bands from the shack of Gerry, 7P8CC (EI8CC). QSL

14/03/2014: Masa, JA0RQV, plans to visit Tonga again, and will QRV as A35JP
from 14th to 20th March 2014 from Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu Island (OC-049, Grid
Loc. AG28), Kingdom of Tonga. Since it is not DX vacation but business trip, the
operation will be during his spare time after primary business, mostly at night
in Tongan time (UTC+13h) and week end. QRV on 80-6 metre CW and SSB, using
IC-7000 (100W) and Vertical. QSL via home call, by the bureau, LoTW and direct

14/03/2014: Kazu, M0CFW, plans to be active as MJ0CFW from St. Brelade, isle of
Jersey (EU-013, WLOTA 0818, WW Loc. IN89VE) from 14-16th March 2014. QRV on the
HF bands. His main focus will be on the Russian DX Contest and BARTG RTTY
Contest (15-16 March) using the callsign MJ5Z. QSL via M0CFW and LoTW. [NG3K]

14/03/2014: Operators Ismael XE1AY, Alejandro XE1FAS, David XE1REW, Gustavo
XE1KKK, Enrique XE2AA, Jorge XE2AMS, Benjamin XE2AU and Juan XE2AY will be
active as XF1T from Cocinas Island (IOTA NA-189), in front of Punta Perula,
Jalisco (WW Loc. DK79TC) on 14-17th March, 2014. QRV on 160-10 metre CW, SSB,
RTTY and PSK31, near the usual IOTA frequencies. Satellite and 6m also. QSL via

14/03/2014: Guests of the Catamaran "Cush" sailing the Caribbean Sea, look for
Simone, HP2/IK5RUN and Danio, HP2/I5OYY to be active from two Panamanian island
groups between 15 March and 2 April 2014. They plan to be QRV from the San Blas
Archipelago (IOTA NA-170) and the Colon-Veraguas group (IOTA NA-202) during this
period. QRV holiday style on 80-6 metre CW, SSB and RTTY. [DX World]

29/03/2014: Lukas, HB9EBT, willl be active as D44TEG from Tarrafal, located in
the northern part of the island of Santiago (AF-005, Grid Loc. HK85) in the
Sotavento Islands of Cape Verde, from 29th March until 5th April 2014. QRV on
CW, PSK, RTTY; 20-10m. QSL via HB9EBT, direct or bureau. [DX World]

29/03/2014: Look for Bob, WP2XX, to be active as WP2Z during the CQWW WPX SSB
Contest (29-30 March) as a Single-Op entry from the Windwood contest station, on
the North shore of the island of St. Croix (USi VI-002S, WLOTA 2477, CQ zone 8),
US Virgin Islands (NA-106). QSL via KU9C. [NG3K]

02/04/2014: Operators Rob N7QT, Melanie AB1UH, Hugh W4VAB and Guy N7UN have
planned a holiday style, suitcase expedition, to the island of San Andres
(NA-033, WLOTA 2990, WWFF HKFF-035) using the callsign 5J0X. QRV between 2-14
April 2014 on 80-10 metre CW, SSB and PSK. The operation will be primarily
holiday style. Logs will be uploaded during the operation to Clublog and to LoTW
shortly after the mini-DXpedition. QSL direct to N7QT. No eQSLs. IRCs are
acceptable. ARRL Bureau cards acceptable. Direct QSLs with 2 US$ will be

05/04/2014: Victor, CE1WFN plans to be active from Easter Island [aka Rapa Nui,
Isla de Pascua] (SA-001, DICE ICE-001, WLOTA 0319, WWFF CEFF-027) between 5-17th
April 2014 as CE0Y/CE1WFN. QRV on the HF bands. QSL via home call. [DX World]

05/04/2014: Jean-Marc, F5SGI, will be active as CT9/F5SGI from Ilha da Madeira
[Madeira Island] (IOTA AF-014, DIP MA-001, PIP MD-001, WLOTA 0053) between
5-12th April 2014. QRV on 80-10 metres, mainly CW. QSL via home call, either

09/04/2014: Look for Hans DL6JGN, Ronald PA3EWP and Guenter DL2AWG to be
signing KH8/homecalls from Ofu Island (OC-077, USi AS002S, WLOTA 3053), Manu'a
County, American Samoa, between 9-20th April 2014. Plans are to be QRV on 40m to
10m using CW, SSB and RTTY. They will use 2x K3 and PA 600W with Monoband GP's
from their QTH which is unobstructed to north direction, ie no hills. QSL via

04/05/2014: Look for Joerg, DL4HTK and Torsten DO5AD to be active from
Liechtenstein as HB0DRK and HB0YRK, respectively, between 4-18th May 2014. Plans

SPECIAL EVENTS -

07/03/2014: Normunds Sne, YL3DQ, is now active as YL2014C from Riga, Latvia,
until 30th November during Europe's Cultural Capital City of 2014. QRV on 160 to
10 metre CW, SSB and RTTY. It is not necessary to send your QSL - all contacts
will be confirmed with bureau QSLs after the activity. Logs will be uploaded to

12/03/2014: From 12-18th March 2014 look for the following stations to be
active to celebrate ARRL's centennial year: W1AW/7 operated by Ed AA7A located
in the city of Scottsdale, Maricopa County, State of Arizona and W1AW/8 operated
by Steve N8BJQ located in the city of New Carlisle, Champaign County, State of

My wife Nancy passed away Sunday March 2, 2014. She endured many years of
medical challenges and is now resting peacefully. She is leaving a empty spot in
my heart as I'm sure it is the same for all of you. Thank you for the outpouring
of sympathy that I have already received. She has touched so many people around
the world.
I am enclosing a link to her brief obit. There are no services planned at
this time. She is being cremated at this time per her wishes.

Nancy Anne Kott
October 27, 1955 - March 2, 2014
KOTT, NANCY age 58 of Metamora, MI., died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the
University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. Memorial Services will be
announced at a later date. Nancy was born October 27, 1955 in Hamtramck,
MI., to parents Kenneth and Irene (Keller) Kott. She was head of the North
American Branch of the Preservation of Morse Code (FISTS). Nancy worked for
the U.S. Census Bureau and the Center for Disease Control. Surviving are
husband Tim Lange; parents Kenneth and Irene Kott; sister-in-law Diane Kott
and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul
Kott. Arrangements by the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St, Grand
Blanc, MI.
