IOTA News from OPDX

Island activities:
AS-007. A group of JAs will be using the special callsign 8J1MTD from Honshu Island during CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 29-30th) as a Multi-Multi entry. QSL via LoTW or direct (see QRZ.com). The special callsign is to celebrate the 70th anniversary of
Matsudo City.
AS-134. Operators Zhang/BA3AX and Lu/BD3AEO have postponed their
B3/BA3AX and B3/BD3AEO trip to Yuetuo Island between March
21-24th. No reason given.
EU-008. Gil, F4FET, will be active as MM/F4FET/p from the Isle of Mull (IOSA NH15, SCOTIA CN10, WLOTA 2485) between May 12-18th.

EU-108. Gil, F4FET, will be active as MM/F4FET/p from the Island of
Lunga (IOSA FL07, SCOTIA CS37), Trenish Isles, in the Firth of Lorn, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, between May 14-18th. Activity will be limited to a few hours on the HF bands. QSL via his home callsign, direct, by the Bureau or ClubLog's OQRS. Visit his Web site at: http://www.f4fet.net
EU-127. A large group of operators will be active as DA0HEL from
Helgoland Island between April 3-12th. They plan to have 3-4 stations on the air. QSL via DF6QC, by the Bureau is preferred.
EU-147. Lars, SM6CUK, will be active as SA6G/7 from Ven Island (WLOTA 0780) between June 9-16th. Activity will be on the HF bands
on, or near, the usual IOTA frequencies. QSL via SM6CUK, direct or by the Bureau.
OC-016. (Reminder) Jeff, K0UU, will be active as 3D2FJ from Beqa Island
between March 23-31st, 2014. Activity will be holiday style on 80-10 meters CW only. QSL via K0UU, by LoTW (preferred) or direct.
OC-084. Tov, T32TV, who was previously on Christmas Island, is now
active from the rare IOTA Washington Island. His length of stay was not mentioned. Tov is 100% on solar power at this time. Not enough power to run his linear amp. If anyone has any ideas how he can get more power out of the solar setup, please let Stan, KH6CG, know. Stan is Tov QSL Manager. He states, "I am hoping we can possibly get some necessary solar equipment donated to him to increase his storage capacity and total power. Tov is running a Yaesu FT-450D and a Hygain
AV-640 vertical. 6-40meters. Presently running only 100 watts, but does have a linear amp that can run as much as 600w if he can get the power to run it." Activity so far has been on 20 and 10 meters SSB.
