Is it normal for my antenna to be bent like this?

I got this Diamond SRH77CA antenna as an upgrade for my ID-51 handheld. I feel like i’m having some trouble being heard on my local repeater sometimes. Do you think this could be a cause, or is a little bend like this normal? It has also been raining all day. Does rain affect the signal a lot?
