Police scanner recommendations – Will it work in my area?

Not sure if this is the correct subreddit for this question so please let me know.

I’m looking for a Police scanner to add to the current mobile rig in my truck.

I was looking at the Uniden Beartracker BCT15X (http://ift.tt/2fTdY3v)

Problem is, I’m not sure if it’ll pick up my local police frequencies.
