06/06/2014: A 10-strong team of Belgian ops will be active from Albania as ZA/ON6NB between 6-15th June 2014. Plans are to be QRV on 80-6m, CW, SSB, PSK and RTTY with an emphasis on the higher bands, propagation conditions permitting. 07/06/2014: Members of the Radioamadores Centro Oeste Radio Clube Station CS5RCO will Ilha da Berlenga Grande (IOTA EU-040, DIP ES-001, PIP NT-029, PFFP FP-031, DPRN FF-15) on 7-9th June 2014. 07/06/2014: Tony, VK3VTH, plans activity as VK3VTH/5 from the Coorong National Park (WWFF VKFF-115), State of South Australia (IOTA OC-001, WLOTA 1520) on 6th and 7th June 2014. He will be participating in the "Green Party 2014" contest on Saturday 7th June. His schedule is as follows - Saturday 7th June: Contest Mode: 0600z > Long Path EU until Band Close. 09/06/2014: John, K9EL, will once again visit the island of French St. Martin (NA-105, DIFO FS-001, WLOTA 0383, Grid Loc. FK88) from 9-27 June 2014. He plans to be active on 80 through 6 metres. John will be running 500 watts to a 3 element yagi on 6m, dipoles for 10-30m and a vertical for 40-80m. He will operate 60m if there is interest. Daily uploads to Club Log and LoTW are planned. John says "This year I am planning a Twitter experiment and will tweet my operating frequency/mode at the beginning of my daily activity and also each time when I change bands, change modes, QRT for meals, beach, etc. Those interested in following my operating activities during my trip, can follow me at @FSK9EL". 13/06/2014: A team from ERASD (The Egyptian Radio Amateurs Society For Development) will again be active from Nelson's Island (IOTA AF-109) between 13-20th June 2014. The team will also activate the Nelson's Island lighthouse (WLOTA 2694, Admiralty E6168) during the same time frame. Plans are to be QRV using all modes on 40, 20, 17, 15, 17 and 12 metres. 19/06/2014: Special Event - Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the flight from Moscow to the forced landing on Miscou Island, New Brunswick. The New Brunswick division of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society will be hosting a commemorative ceremony on Miscou Island (IOTA NA-068, CIsA NB-002) at the Miscou Island Lighthouse (ARLHS CAN-320, CCG 1264.7, Admiralty H1552, WLOTA 0262), located at the most easterly tip of Miscou Island, on June 19, 2014. The International Repeater Group will be operating as VX9MOSKVA from 1500UTC, June 19 for a minimum of 48 hours using CW and SSB on 80, 40, 20,15, and 10m. QSL via the Bureau and eQSL.cc. 08/07/2014: Joel, K2QBV, plans activity as E51QBV from Avarua, on the northern side of Rarotonga Island (OC-013), South Cook Islands, between 8-21 July 2014. This is not a true DXpedition but a vacation for Joel's wife and himself while still enjoying amateur radio and visiting friends along the way. Equipment used on South Cook will be a Yaesu 756 Pro, Ameriton AL1200, Tennadyne T7 log or a KLM 4 element 20. The tower is at 70 ft. 25/09/2014: Kazu, M0CFW, plans to be active once again as MJ5Z during the CQWW DX RTTY Contest (27-28 September) from the isle of Jersey (EU-013, WLOTA 0818) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. 01/10/2014: Georg, DK7LX and Phil, G3SWH will be QRV from Grand Turk Island (NA-003, WLOTA 0289) in the Turks and Caicos Islands as VP5/G3SWH between 1st and 9th October 2014. They will have two stations with wire antennas and operate CW only on all bands from 80 to 10 metres with the exception of 60 metres. There will be no 160 or 6 metre activity. There will be a log search facility at www.g3swh.org.uk/vp5-g3swh.html which, subject to a decent Internet connection, will be updated daily. The log will also be uploaded to the ARRL's Log Book of the World (LoTW) and Club Log. 01/11/2014: Michel (Mic), FK8IK, provides a trip sailing with friends not radio amateurs from 1-20 November 2014. The departure from Noumea is fixed on the 1st November to go to Chesterfield islands. The trip last 100 hours and they hope to arrive at Chesterfield (IOTA OC-176) on November 5th and they stay for 4 days. He will be using the TX5C callsing (do not confuse with TX5C Clipperton in 2008). They will leave from Chesterfield on 10th November and will go to Entercasteaux reef (IOTA OC-058). The trip last 80 hours. They hope to arrive on 14th November and they stay for 3 days and he will use TX5E callsign. They will then go to Belep (IOTA OC-079) and hope to arrive on 21st November and stay on this island for 3 days where he will use the TX5B callsign. They will depart 24th November to go back to Noumea. During the trip he will use the FK8IK/MM callsign. When he is on the islands Michel will be active on 40-10 metre CW and SSB with 100 watts. 06/06/2014: Special event station W9D will be active on 6-8th June 2014 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day. On 7th June operations will take place from the grounds of the First Division War Museum at Cantigny Park (Wheaton, IL). The 1st Infantry Division led the landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy on 6th June 1944. QSL direct to W9DUP (DuPage Amateur Radio Club, P.O. Box 71, Clarendon Hills, IL 60514, USA). [425 DX News]

07/06/2014: Launched in 1904, the 'Elettra' was a two-masted steam yacht that Guglielmo Marconi used as a floating laboratory for many experiments. Part of her keel stands in the grounds of Villa Griffone, at Pontecchio near Bologna, from where special event station IY4EY will be activated by ARI Fidenza (www.arifidenza.it/) during the Museum Ships Weekend on 7-8 June 2014. 07/06/2014: Operators Leslie AD5WB, Jeremy K0JCC, Michael K5WRN, Rick KE5BZE, Janet KJ5WRN, Dominic N5TCB and James W5AOO will participate in the Museum Ships Weekend (7-8 June) as N5E from the tall ship 'Elissa' at the Texas Seaport Museum on Galveston Island (NA-143, USi TX-001S). MUSEUM SHIPS WEEKEND 2014
The weekend on June 7/8 sees the next Museum Ships Weekend. So far close to 100 stations, most of them from North America, have registered their plans to operate.
