Tony Dixon G4CJC The dratted 'Over the horizon radar' has been spoiling things on 10m PSK. I managed a couple of EAs last week but the band was not at all active. Then came this Tuesday and I worked USA, Spain, the Canary Islands, Cuba, Kuwait and Italy all on PSK31. Things may be looking up. Steve, M0STC worked CE4SES 5/7 and CE3EEA 5/7 on Sunday, He apologises (no need), saying, “Hi Tony. Sorry it's been such a long time since I last sent you a report. If you remember, I had a 4-element beam but not a rotator. Well I did get a rotator (Yaesu G-450C) and it works well. Hope to spend more time radio-ing in the near future. Tuesday,a bit of an opening this afternoon, but unfortunately the few interesting DX stations seemed to be busy with many European stations who were stronger than me !” New rotator or used? Heard one side of a German QSO on FM simplex, 5-9 with full quieting! Called the station, had a 5 minute chat with an astonished German named Inge, DO8DY. Afterwards heard him telling his friend how amazed he was working Scotland on 10m FM for the first time. I think it's my first 10m FM DX too! I was on 5 Watts FM with my FT-817ND. Not sure what power Inge was using, but he was just chatting locally not looking for DX.” I never looked on the FM section, will do now though. Manchester City away this coming Saturday, no chance. BTW Manchester United were beaten 4 – 0 by MK Dons and knocked out of the Carling Cup. What a shame! I do feel sorry for the new manager (not).
