Then came this Tuesday and I worked USA, Spain, the Canary Islands, Cuba, Kuwait and Italy all on PSK31. Things may be looking up. Steve, M0STC worked CE4SES 5/7 and CE3EEA 5/7 on Sunday, He apologises (no need), saying, “Hi Tony. Sorry it's been such a long time since I last sent you a report. If you remember, I had a 4-element beam but not a rotator. Well I did get a rotator (Yaesu G-450C) and it works well. Hope to spend more time radio-ing in the near future. Tuesday,a bit of an opening this afternoon, but unfortunately the few interesting DX stations seemed to be busy with many European stations who were stronger than me !” New rotator or used? I have a Moxon kit but I’ve not built it yet. It’s going to have to wait till the grandchildren go back to school. 9W2VVH, Arie, worked a few also on Tuesday. CT1JTQ, CT4RC, DL7UDA, DL8WYJ, EB3JT, IU8ALH, LZ1WH, SQ9LPQ, UR5YAE & YO6PAO. “Hi Tony. Apa khabar, semoga sihat dan gembira selalu.( Hello, hopefully healthy and happy always) This time I wkd on digital mode - PSK31 @ 28.120MHz. Managed to work 10 EU stn. By the way, I’m vy glad to inform you that there is an activation for special event callsign 9M57MY. It is a special event callsign for the Malaysia 57th independence day that will be running on 30th - 31st August 2014. Hope they also calling on 10m band.” I hope they are too, I haven’t worked 9M for a long time. Then on Wednesday, S51AB, DM2CF, DM6KC, F6ECI, LZ1WE, DG4GAT, UA3AQD, UA4HBJ, RA3DAD, F4FRG, UA4PCF, UA6FZ, UA3DTK, UA4CDM, G4BHE, DO6LE, F6GC, DL1AML, SP5Z, UT4LK, IU5BJS, IK5PWJ, IZ8XQC, UT2UO, IZ3WQO, IZ2KLV, 4S7BRG, IW1BGR. All on data mode (PSK31) “Just QRT by 1625utc. I start CQing 28.120 around 1430utc and wkd 28 stns. 73” Paul, MM3OQR, says, “Heard various on CB channels so checked 10m band. Heard one side of a German QSO on FM simplex, 5-9 with full quieting! Called the station, had a 5 minute chat with an astonished German named Inge, DO8DY. Afterwards heard him telling his friend how amazed he was working Scotland on 10m FM for the first time. I think it's my first 10m FM DX too! I was on 5 Watts FM with my FT-817ND. Not sure what power Inge was using, but he was just chatting locally not looking for DX.” I never looked on the FM section, will do now though. Thanks for the report Paul, your first I think. Sun: 5 sunspots with only couple like to flare. Monday a rapid pair of CMEs just missed earth. Stoke scrambled an away draw against the 10 men of Hull (Tigers?). It was a poor show from Stoke and on TV too. Manchester City away this coming Saturday, no chance. BTW Manchester United were beaten 4 – 0 by MK Dons and knocked out of the Carling Cup. What a shame! I do feel sorry for the new manager (not). |
