16/08/2014: Northern Viking DXers, namely Markus OH1MN and Janne OH1SDR
will be active as OH10TA from Lovo Island (EU-096) on 16th and 17th August 2014.
Main bands/focus will be on 2m and 6m from the locator KO19fx. Working
meteorscatter, SSB/CW if condx vy good! They will also take some HF gear with
them but if conditions are good on the mainbands 6/2m then they will not be QRV

21/08/2014: Look for Francisco EA7FTR, Eugene EA5HPX, David EB7DX and
friends to be active from ARRAM in Rabat, Morocco, using the special callsign
5E7R between August 21-24, 2014. They will try all bands and modes possible. QSL

21/08/2014: Vasili, RA1ZZ/3 and team (Alex RA3AV, Andrey R9XC, Valery
UA0ZC, Avinir UA1ZZ and Victor UA3AKO) are planning an expedition to Karaginskiy
island (R0X, AS-064, RRA RR-12-03, RDA KT-11, WW Loc. RO18SM), and the
lighthouse Eltnlet (RLHA New One!, WLOTA 0713), last activated over twelve years
ago. The primary goal is to activate KT-11 for the Russian District Award (RDA)
program, but after discovering that Karaginskiy is in that district, they also
decided to tackle the island for both RDA and IOTA. Final dates depend on the
weather and the ship's schedule, but approx August 21-28. The team plans to
operate maritime mobile out of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky the two days sailing to

29/08/2014: Electromagnetic Field EMF 2014 will have a dedicated amateur
radio village and special event station GB2EMF. It is a festival for anyone
interested in radio, electronics, space, homebrewing, robots, 3D printing,

29/08/2014: On 31st of August 2014, it will be 40 years ago the Dutch
offshore radio stations stopped their transmissions due to changes in
legislation. Arie PD0ARI from Giessenburg, The Netherlands, will be operating
the special event station PD538RNI from 28th August until 19th September. He

06/09/2014: UK Islands Group (M0UKI) members Nobby G0VJG, Dave EI9FBB,
Richard G7GLW and Charles M0OXO will be active from the Farne Islands (EU-109)
on the 6th and 7th September 2014 as M0UKI/p. This short operation may also
include participation in the SSB Field Day contest. The team are aiming for
Longstone Island and lighthouse (Admiralty A2814, ARLHS ENG-070, WLOTA 0234, WAB
NU23, WW Loc. IO95EP), dependant on weather. They will be using multi-band
dipoles and vertical antennas and hope to give this IOTA to as many chasers as

26/09/2014: Pekka, OH2YY, reports "will be returning to Bhutan late
September this year. I have applied for the same call, A52YY, that I used last
year. I will arrive in Paro late afternoon on Sept. 26th and will depart in the
morning of October 2nd. I will be staying close to city of Paro. This time I
have nothing else to do and I can focus 100% on operating amateur radio! The QTH
will be up on a hill facing to north giving a good take off to North America,
most of South America, northern Asia, Middle-East and whole Europe should be
good. I will have a K3 + KPA500, a 2-el tribander, 7m telescope mast and dipoles
for 24, 18 and 7 MHz and two 10-12m fiberglass poles. I will have every day 28,
21 and 14 MHz available and at least one (hopefully two) of the dipoles. I will
be operating SSB. I try to start already on September 26th with one of the
dipoles. From 27th onwards I will have the yagi up. On October 2nd I will have
an early morning flight and need to go QRT sometime during the night. QSL
checking will be here and in LotW. QSL cards dirctly to my home address or via

29/09/2014: John, W5JON, will again be operating from their Calypso Bay,
St. Kitts, W.I. vacation home, located 200 feet from the Caribbean Sea, from
Sept. 29 until Nov. 12, 2014, and active on 6-160m (incl. 60m) SSB. Also
operation in the, CQWW SSB (Oct. 25/26) Contest, SOAB, is planned. Radio:
Kenwood TS-590S, and Elecraft KPA500 Amplifier. Antennas: 31', 10-40m Vertical,
and 35', 40/80m Top Loaded Vertical; and newly added, shortened 160m Dipole. On

05/11/2014: Look for W1AW/KH8 to be active from the Maliu Mai Beach
Resort, Fogagogo, island of Tutuila (OC-045, USi AS007S, WLOTA 4385), American
Samoa, as part of the ARRL Centennial celebrations between 5-18 November 2014.
Operators include Mike N9NS, Paul W8AEF, Cliff KD6XH, John N7CQQ + others. QRV
