(ERASD) plans activity from Jazirat Disuqi [aka Nelson's Island] and

change. Belonging to the Nile Delta and Sinai Region Group, this IOTA has
never
been activated. The island is approximately 20 km east of the Egyptian port

fun, so

10/05/2013: Continuing the Camb-Hams traditional Scottish Island
activations,
GS3PYE/p will be active once again from the isle of Mull (IOSA NH15,
SCOTIA
CN10, WLOTA 2485, Grid Loc. IO76), Inner Hebrides (EU-008), from Friday
10th May
until Thursday 16th May, 2013. All HF bands from 600m (472kHz) to 10m
covered
with five stations on air simultaneously, all capable of running the legal
power
limit from five linear amplifiers. Also 6m, 4m and 2m with a great take-off
to
the UK and Europe, again all at legal limit. With the success of EME last

11/05/2013: ANNUAL ARMED FORCES DAY CROSSBAND MILITARY/AMATEUR RADIO
COMMUNICATIONS TEST - The Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast
Guard
are co-sponsoring the annual military/amateur radio communications tests
in
celebration of the 63rd Anniversary of Armed Forces Day (AFD). Although
the
actual Armed Forces Day is celebrated on Saturday, May 18, 2013, the
AFD
Military/Amateur Crossband Communications Test will be conducted 11 May
2013 to
prevent conflict with the Dayton Hamvention (17-19 May 2013), which is the
same
weekend as the actual Armed Forces Day. The annual celebration
features
traditional military to amateur cross band communications SSB voice and
Morse
Code tests. These tests give Amateur Radio operators and Short Wave
Listeners
(SWL) an opportunity to demonstrate their individual technical skills, and
to
receive recognition from the appropriate military radio station for their
proven

03/05/2013: Special event station 8J2I will be aired from May until 30
November
2013 to celebrate the Shikinen Sengu Ceremony (Reconstruction of a
shrine
building once every 20 years at Ise Jingu or Ise Grand Shrine). Ise Grand
Shrine
is a Shinto shrine dedicated to goddess Amaterasu-omikami, located in
Ise-city
(JCC 2103), Mie prefecture, Kansai region, island of Honshu (AS-007,
WLOTA
2376), Japan. Officially known simply as Jingu, Ise Jingu is in fact a
shrine
complex composed of a large number of Shinto shrines centered on two
main
shrines, Naiku and Geku. The shrine buildings are rebuilt every 20 years as
a
part of the Shinto belief of the death and renewal of nature and the
impermanence of all things - wabi-sabi - and as a way of passing
building
techniques from one generation to the next. The rebuilding of the main
shrine
takes place on an adjacent site next to the old, and each rebuilding
alternates
between the two sites. The next scheduled rebuilding of Naiku is due in
2013 on

(JCC
2007), Aichi prefecture, Chubu region, island of Honshu (AS-007, WLOTA

Japan. During the Meiji period, the area was organized into villages
under
Higashikasugai District, Aichi, with the town of Kachigawa established on
July
25, 1900. On June 1, 1943, Kachigawa merged with neighboring villages
of
Toriimatsu and Shinogi to form the city of Kasugai. In 1958, Kasugai
annexed the
neighboring towns of Sakashita and Kozoji. Kasugai gained Special city
status on

mixed (1) a Naruko (or a clapper) of Yosakoi Matsuri (or Festival) in

Festival,
a huge dance festival in Hokkaido, is held in the Odori Park, Sapporo-city

DXpedition on 80-6m using vertical antennas over salt water. The

location has unobstructed take-offs to North America, Europe and Africa.
Haiti

During the months of May and June 2013 Simon, HS0ZIB will again operate
XZ1K
from Tanintharyi State, south Myanmar. He will only operate on PSK31,
according
to when he has free time. From 1st July, Simon will be working in Laos, but
he
will try to return each holiday to re-activate XZ1K. QSLs will only be
available
via online verification. There is of course, no bureau in Myanmar and he
will
have no permanent address there. Simon will mail out a hard-copy QSL for
each
QSO verification. SWLs may also submit their reception reports.
